Sandy beaches, farmlands, fishing docks, harbor towns and tall lighthouses, Its Martha's Vineyard! It is around an hour of boat ride from Cape Cod to the Oak Bluffs. MV accessible only by boat or air.
This picture was of course taken in summer :) Bright sunny day with blue sky and lush green. In the background is the famous east chop lighthouse. The best of my memories of MV are from East Chop. We rented a bright Red scooter near the Oak Bluffs harbor after getting off from ferry, kicked off our slippers, rode to the sunset ;) I meant we drove to East Chop:)

Must Do : Get that pretty but awfully slow red scooter, drive to the light house, live the dream :)

"We stayed here for a long weekend with our 3 teenage kids. Plenty of space for everyone and very clean. Easy walkable location from Vineyard Haven ferry. I would book again!"

Downtown Captain's Mansion- The Dexter- Family, pet, and event friendly

House party to celebrate a 70th birthday

"The Dexter House is a huge, well-maintained, well-decorated property. It was perfect for our event. At the most, we had 13 people staying in the house. It isn't easy to find a property with so many near-equal bedrooms for adults -- e.g., no bunk-beds. As many of us were between 65 and 75, we had a bit of a challenge matching bedrooms and bathrooms to guests. Note that all the bathrooms with walk-in showers are on the 3rd floor. Alexandra was very patient to answer all my questions about room and bathroom layout so I could figure out in advance whether the property would work for us.There was plenty of room for all our activities: we had a separate "music room" for our instruments and jams; a bright "puzzle room" on the second floor, where we worked a jigsaw puzzle during the week; and the main living/dining area where we did a play-reading with 13 characters, had a wine-tasting with a local sommelier, and had a sit-down birthday dinner for 15 served at the house by The Attic restaurant next door. Wonderful!The kitchen is very well-equipped. It met all our cooking needs. All our guests loved the property and found their beds and their rooms to be comfortable. The Dexter House is a very special property. Thanks for sharing it with us!"

Wonderful host and great property

"Stayed here for a weeklong vacation. The house was extremely clean, the kitchen was well equipped with all manner of pots/pans/servewear/etc. outdoor shower perfect for rinsing off after the beach. Quiet neighborhood, but only a few minutes’ drive to town. Mike was very easy to work with and an accommodating host. Highly recommend!"

"My friend and I stayed 2 nights in May and found the house to be well-equipped, clean, and perfect for our needs. The TV had a problem but Mike was very responsive and addressed it immediately. Great location, close to everything."

Perfectly located duplex with comfy layout & beach gear - steps from Main Street

Cute unit in great location

"Other than it is a bit hard to find the unit (it's above an office) and the parking is confusing (I never found the "marked" parking space but support asked the manager and they said I could park anywhere, likely because it is off season), a beautiful unit within very short walking distance to everything.There were some tiny ants walking about, but not unusual for this time of year; a little pest protection should clear it up.Everything was super clean. The bed was lovely. Shower, toiler, bidet -- all working just fine and very clean. Kitchen had everything I needed, although it was so easy to walk and grab a bite that I didn't cook much. Microwave worked find; TVs were good. (And barely used because it was lovely out.)Unit overlooks a field in which some organized sports were happening. Didn't bother me at all but could bother someone. Was only on Saturday during the day.Would definitely come again!"

"This was my boyfriends 45th birthday weekend. We both have never been to Martha's Vineyard and we love taking adventures. Mike was a wonderful host with a beautiful property. The property is close to shops and food. The buses are close and will take you all over. Thank you Mike for being a great host."

"Staff and management were great and very helpful and friendly . Our room was dated and the walls paper thin ,at one point we woke up thinking someone was walking in our room. You could not hold a private conversation in the room without the occupant next door hearing every word . The view out of the window was a metal roof from the property next door . Only plus points were close to ferry and bus stops and small bit of beach to sit on. "
