"Fabulous, our room 402 had a huge balcony with views over the estuary and of the pier. Staff were very friendly and attentive, evening meal of sharing steak was cooked exactly as we like it and breakfast was also very nice, highly recommend the full English for the hungry or sausage muffin. The location is also great, up on the cliff away from the noise but only a short walk to the lift and no more than 5 minutes walk to the pier. "Hotel was fine for a one night stay with good breakfast. Room was clean and reasonably comfortable, though rather small and I found it rather stuffy at night (though an electric fan was available in the room). Hotel is fairly central, convenient if arriving at Colchester Town Station and for town centre. It's not luxury but reasonable value for what I paid. Staff seemed quite welcoming too. "
