"Wow what can I say - we had a fantastic 2 week holiday at the Chateau and hope to return one day Highlights - the house furnishings and grounds , the equipment and a very special mention to Nicolas , the manager who was so helpful and even took it upon himself to cook us the local delicacy- he is a credit to the place !Montmorillon is a delight Criticisms - not anything I can immediately think of to be honest . The local villages are very quiet in late May/early June and the bars /cafes open periodically. Maybe a schedule of what is open when in Journet and La Trimouille would be helpful but that is nit -picking Thank you Stephen !!! "

"Accueil sympathique mais ensemble général très moyen pour le prix. Petit déjeuner de supermarché, aucun produits frais ou typiques de la région, 3 bouchées de melon minuscules pour 2..., chambre vaste mais manque de finitions et de ménage, salle de bain idem ( rideau de douche salle), piscine déjà occupée par les enfants des propriétaires, perdu hors de tout...très déçu, photos qui vend du rêve..."

"Its a lovely family run hotel, the owner has excellant customer service skills and all of the staff make the effort to make you feel like a valued customer. Yes aspects of the rooms could do with a refresh butit is easy to overlook that. The food was very good and good value for money. It was my wife's birthday whilst we were there and when the owner realised they arranged for her dessert to be brought out with an candle in it and Happy Birthday written in chocolate!"

"Had a great stay view from window was good had what we needed host very helpful advised us of local restaurants we could visit for an evening meal asked what time we required breakfast Thank you Steve"

"Although it’s unassuming when you arrive the back of the property is beautiful, with a terrace, pool and riverbank. Great start, great dinner and breakfast, spotlessly clean room. We enjoyed our stay and would have liked to stay longer."

"We have just spent a wonderful fourteen days staying in this impressive place. It was clean, very well equipped and fit for purpose. The courtyard with covered dining area and “plancha grill” for outdoor cooking were a great bonus. An impressive garden and plunge pool was also most appreciated. The host, Jo, was available personally or by phone to answer any questions. Her advice and guidance on local events and places to visit was invaluable. We look forward to returning soon. Ian."

"Thought the hotel was run down and neglected. Tiles off the walls and cracked floor tiles. The bed was fine however the room was very dated with rusty towel stand in the bathroom. Didn’t have a meal as didn’t fancy eating there"
