"The building’s design is fantastic and the main reason we wanted to stay there. It was built in 1994 and in parts it is starting to show its age. The food selection for dinner and breakfast was good and the taste was fantastic. The staff was friendly and helpful. I recommend taking the Bawa Tour to learn about the building. Another tip if you are a coffee drinker is to get an expresso or a coffee directly from the machine. The coffee from the jug from the food server is pretty weak."

"We loved our stay at the Hungry Lion - super close to the Sigiriya rock (we walked). The nicest thing is the location and friendly atmosphere. For a budget accommodation the room was clean and fresh, a few ants in the bathroom but no big deal. Air con was great -3 restaurants to walk to. A rustic stay in a beautiful location for seeing wildlife. This was one the best parts of our trip and would love to have stayed longer so much wildlife at the location we saw 2 hornbills and elephants on the road on our drive out. Thank you to the lovely people there and we did like your dogs x "

"Our stay at Sigiriya Rock Hide was amazing! Beautiful quiet location with a view of Sigiriya rock from the top level restaurant. The food was delicious and very generous, especially the breakfast. The rooms were comfortable with A/C and hot water (just took some time to warm up but was very nice). The pool was very nice amongst a lush garden and was very clean and the perfect temperature. The staff were so incredibly friendly and hospitable. One evening, it was one of their staff member’s birthday and they invited us to have cake with them which was very sweet and kind. They also helped organise a taxi for us to our next stop in Badulla. I highly recommend staying here!! "

"We loved staying at this hotel and found the setting and scenery very beautiful. the hotel consists of little bungalows inside the forest, right next to the lake. I would like to see more information about the hotel services to be more readily available in the rooms and public areas (ie spa & other facilities). the pool should be renovated and enlarged. Also the hotel should provide some paddle boats and kayaks for rent so that people can enjoy the beautiful lake."

"Very boutique style hotel, you will feel like you have a private hotel, very quiet, not many rooms, service is amazing very personalised and everyone is so nice and helpful, also location is good close but secluded, and many wild animals around the gardens which is great. food is delicious, and room are spacious. Very happy with all, super recommended."

"Selvi , Abi and Madhu deserve to be recognised for their amazing service from the time we arrived for our 4 night stay , the girls were always smiling always helpful, we loved the daily towel art in our very clean and cool air conditioned room , then we enjoy the lovely pool and then we were spoilt rotten every morning with the delicious traditional Sri Lanka breakfasts , we give this hotel 6 stars "

"We had an amazing stay at Jetwing Lake. What a beautiful and unique property with a stunning pool! It was so easy to visit Sigiriya and the Eco Park from there. The staff were amazing. And the food was excellent. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner buffets each night. A very big thanks to the amazing staff who always went out of their way to make out stay even more amazing: Imantha, Ekanayake, Shan, Ashada, Kasun, Udithi, Halangoda, Madushan, Trileeshiya, Gimhani, Priyantha, Rizky, and the best from the housekeeping team, Sampath.
