Great stay for a single or couple!! The pictures are fine but may not capture so well the large and bright space you have! Lots of windows (with great privacy shades) allow so much nice light and breeze in. And the location is so easy - shopping less than a mile away and an easy, quick drive down to the beach.

This property is wonderful and is highly recommended. It is very spacious, everything is freshly remodeled, and nicely appointed. Comfortable bed, quiet street, close to great Kohala beaches.
The hosts are very gracious and will go out of their way to ensure you have a great stay: fresh fruit from their trees, beach accessories, access to laundry, etc.
We've been to the Big Island several times and stayed in various vacation rentals - this one ranks near the top and I would love to return!

I was looking for a place to stay for 2-3 nights in Waikoloa to spend time with my grandchildren. It’s difficult to find a short stay between Christmas & New years close to the Hilton Waikoloa. This spacious studio popped up.. perfect. Dee was a gracious host. My two grandchildren & myself thoroughly enjoyed our holiday stay at this studio. I highly recommend this cozy place.

The space was even bigger than the photos, super clean, and just comfortable all around. Dee was extremely attentive and responsive, making the entire stay seamless from booking to arriving to leaving. She was endlessly thoughtful and made our first HomeAway booking/stay a wonderful experience. Thank you, Dee!!

Very nice large room in a quiet neighborhood.
Jacuzzi tub/dual sinks and shower in the bathroom. Small refrigerator/ microwave/iron/wi-fi and streaming are all available.
It is located away from the resorts, and only a 15-minute drive to their shopping and restaurants. About 40-minute drive to Kailua-Kona.
We enjoyed saying there and will look into staying there again if we take another trip there.

Aloha! This is a beautiful,
spacious place to stay while in Hawaii. It felt like home, was well appointed, had a very comfortable bed, and we enjoyed the jetted tub after hikes or the beach. Our hosts were excellent, even loaned us snorkeling gear, chairs, umbrella, and a cooler for our beach days.! The neighborhood is beautiful, quiet, and a great location within close proximity to the beaches, mountains, and all the wonders of Hawaii. Mahalo Denise and Jerry!

25 minutes from beautiful beaches, 2 minutes to the grocery store. Good room for our family. Could really use a deep clean especially main bathroom. Carpet is pretty grungy but for the rest it’s a great place. Property manager worked hard to resolve issues. Beautiful outdoor patio, we would stay here again.

We were already on Island when our next rental condo was cancelled the day before check in due to sewage issues...the week of Christmas when lodging is all booked up. This property was available due to a last minute cancelation and so we snagged it. Jim and Dee were fantastic hosts, responding quickly to any question we had. The room was immaculate and spacious, the neighborhood was quiet. Even though there is not a kitchen, there is a microwave and mini fridge, as well as a table, chairs and a grill on the Lani. Thank you Dee and Jim for saving our vacation!

My sister and I, both in our 70's, stayed with Jim and Dee for two months. They were cordial, helpful, and kind throughout our stay. They accommodated our every request (neither of us is used to A/C so we had some adjustments to make!) They brought in a second mini-fridge so we could store leftover take-out, milk for our morning coffee, and salad fixings. They welcomed our Golden Retriever into their back yard for regular playtimes with their doggie family. They gave us pool passes and shared info on local restaurants, beaches, and events. They even let us wash our car in their driveway! We would both recommend their VRBO for anyone looking for a short or long stay in a quiet neighborhood atmosphere.

Thank you Dee for a lovely experience. After 17 hours of travel from the east coast, arriving at this clean, beautiful, quaint, and quiet lodging was a dream.
Check in –
It was so simple – I texted Dee to give her an idea of when I would be arriving and when I got to her home (very easy to find), the door was unlocked and the key on the table. The room is what I think is called a mother-in-law apartment. Its an extension of their home with its own entrance and full bathroom. We barely heard them and we never crossed paths (but that was by choice).
Lodgings –
The space was extremely clean and beautifully decorated. You can tell Dee put a lot of thought into the décor and furniture. There was an ornate coffee table that was carved out of wood and artwork throughout. The bed was California King size and very comfortable. The bathroom was big with a jetted tub and separate shower. There were ample bath and beach towels for our use. Host also provided toiletries which was great. There isn’t a kitchen but there is a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, dishware, silverware, seasoning and some other kitchen items you may want to use. We weren’t looking to cook so just having a fridge to hold our milk, yogurt and beverage was great. Having the coffeemaker was a huge help in the mornings. During our stay, we saw there were vents for central air but it was not turned on so we can’t say how it was. The days we were there, it was really nice out in the evenings so we had the windows open and the fans on for a great breeze. The place is in a private residential street so at night it is extremely quiet (which we loved) and you could stand outside and see the stars and the moon shine brightly.
Dee was nice enough to loan us beach chairs, umbrella and a cooler. We could have borrowed more beach items but we didn’t need to.
Location –
The lodgings are located in an area called Waikoloa. Its about a 10 minute drive from a KTA grocery store, gas station and a bunch of restaurants with different price ranges. If you drive about 20 minutes west, you will get to the area where there are number of resorts, shops, restaurants and a Foodland supermarket. The location of Dee’s place could not be beat – we were close to Waimea, Hawi, the Kona coffee farms and beautiful Hapuna Beach.
Overall we had a lovely time and would definitely stay again when we return to the Big Island. Her place is clean, warm, welcoming and a true gem. - Mahalo! - Michelle & Erek

Just perfect. VERY clean… beautifully decorated… feels so relaxing and cool.. it is better than pictures. Host were easy and friendly and very accommodating and helpful. I felt safe and comfortable ..it’s a beautiful quiet neighborhood and just a quick 10 minute beautiful drive to the beach. I often got food from the local grocery store just down the street and they had a refrigerator and a microwave and and electric water heater for my pour over coffee ..that was all I needed. I will definitely be back as I visit Big Island often… this was actually my fifth visit and I usually stay at the condos located near the Queens shopping center… but this was way better it was just quieter and cleaner ❤️

I cut my stay short mainly due to personal issues. I have a bad back and the bed just didnt work, not a problem with room. The real issue was the temperature of the room. I was not prepared for the AC being adjusted to 80 degrees on a whole. It was adusted for a short time on one day but at night it was back to higher temperature. I am used to lower temperatures and not comfortable otherwise.

My husband and I recently moved to Hawaii but we needed a place to stay until our home was ready for move in. We believe that we found the BEST place to stay. The owner’s are incredibly kind, and the master suite was beautiful and really clean. The area is very quiet and peaceful. We highly recommend staying here and we would go back if we ever need to.
Thank you Dee and Jim for the wonderful stay!

We had a great time at this stay. It's a large master bedroom, with a private and very large bathroom with its own entrance. The hosts were wonderful, and happy to accommodate our small dog (who got along great with one of the hosts small dogs too!) Didn't have any issues with their dogs at all at night, no noise concerns or anything.
The room was comfortable, large, and had everything we needed including fridge, microwave, plenty of towels, beach towels, etc. Everything seemed well cleaned. While the pictures show the windows closed, opening them reveals a bright exposure to the beautiful Hawaii sun as the room sits in the front of the house near the (very quiet cul-de-sac) street.
The location is a bit off the ways from where most tourist attraction are, it has a few nearby cafes and a very good grocery store but otherwise we found ourselves driving around most of them time, often to Kona (~40min away) - but then again it's Big Island and there's tons to explore that's spread out. But aside from that it's been one of the best vacation rental rooms we've stayed in!

Friendly, helpful hosts. The property is as advertised - convenient to the Kohala Coast, spacious, private, and very clean and nicely decorated. Beach chairs, towels, snorkel equipment and boogie boards were all available. The property is on the heights above Waikoloa Village.

We had a wonderful time staying at this property, which is nicely situated just a short drive from the Kohala coast and Waimea (15-20 min drives). The neighborhood is very quiet and safe and we had no issues with parking on the street. The accommodations were more than ample for the two of us during our stay, and well-equipped with all necessary creature comforts. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.
