"We had a fantastic time at the Matauri Bay Shearers Cottage. The property was nice, private and quaint and just as advertised. A short walk to the pub and diary and a short drive to the beach. "My little chalet was ideal for me. There is one of the stages at the beginning for the driveway so that was perfect for my start to do the Okiato loop. Shame the sun doesn’t penetrate the chalet until later in the day, likely the trees in the front obscure the sun and view of the sea. It’s a tranquil place, one can be as active as they want to be swimming, kayaking if you want. "
