"Rapaura WaterGardens is absolutely magical. Imagine a cottage nestled in your own secret garden, 64 acres of lush bushes, native trees, lily ponds, flowers in bloom, gurgling streams, walking paths, green mounds of grass everywhere, and a gorgeous waterfall. Hard to not pinch yourself when you look out the sparkling windows gazing at nature, with the occasional ducks passing by and the birds singing their song. As you sit in your cozy cottage, luxurious in all the necessities, comfy in the most charming way, you just can’t help but feel grateful that you chose to stay 4 nights. Learning bits of the history that created this special place over 50 years ago and knowing that Sacha and Serena have taken it over from their late mummy as custodians and hosts with Super Ross, who we’ve not met, as the groundskeeper, can’t help but make us feel like family. What a special place this is, one that is in the spirit of a country known for its natural beauty and kind folks."

"Upon arriving we were hesitant that we’d found the right address. The absolute beauty of the location had not been given its due justice from the online photos. The new owners have done so much to revitalize the rooms, overall property and gardens. The panoramic view was epic."

"Great spot to unwind and switch off - perfect for feeling like you’re completely out of the city without having to drive for hours. Hosts were great and found perfect mix of friendly/accomodating while also giving privacy. Highly recommend taking the short trip over to Pokeno butcher and making the most of the coal barbecue provided."

"Lovely location with seaside within 1 min and a stream just next to our apartment. Loved the birds and sunset viewing. Minimal road noise in unit 5. Clean room. Comfortable beds. Newly renovated bathroom and toilet. Full kitchen appliances and shared BBQ facilities. It just lacks some cooking utensils: baking dish to use in the oven, big salad bowl and a cover for the frying pan. Owner was very accommodating - She let us check in without pre-payment as we arrived late. Thames is a pretty little town. We enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended. "
