Beekeeper's Cottage - Hot Tub, Heated Pool, Dog-friendly, Downtown
Inside the historical Locust Street District of Downtown Washington, Missouri, the Beekeeper's Cottage is rumored to have had Auggie Bush as a frequent visitor when the Cottage first opened as a vacation rental in the 1900s.
The Beekeeper's Cottage is a part of the exclusive collection of Missouri Haus vacation rental homes. Bring your mom and sisters for a wine country getaway, ride the Katy Trail, or celebrate a wedding at one of the nearby wedding venues. The Beekeeper's Cottage is in the heart of WashMo and Missouri wine country and less than an hour from St. Louis.
On the National Register of Historic Places as a part of the Locust Street Historical District, the renovated 1920 historical home is fully updated with modern amenities. With 3 bedrooms and 2-1/2 bathrooms, it sleeps a total of 8 people in 4 queen beds.
Over a century old, the fireplaces (nonworking), doors, woodwork, and hardwood floors have been refurbished, adding a beautiful charm to this brick home.
The Beekeeper's Cottage is dog friendly for pre-approved dogs only.
MAIN LEVEL
The living area on the main level is an open floor plan showcasing the fireplace centerpiece and hardwood floors. The leather sofa pulls out to a queen size sleeper.
From the living room and through the double sliding pocket doors is the dining area with a gorgeous hardwood dining table and seating for 6 people.
The beautifully detailed full kitchen has everything you need to make your own meals, including place settings, pots and pans, wine glasses, and a regular coffee maker.
SECOND LEVEL
Up a flight of 100 year old steep stairs, the upper level has all three bedrooms and both of the full bathrooms.
Bedroom 1 has a queen size bed with crisp white linens, a nonworking fireplace accent, and an en suite bathroom with gorgeous clawfoot tub and shower.
Bedroom 2 has two queen size beds, and Bedroom 3 has a queen size bed. These bedrooms share the second full bathroom. This bathroom has double pedestal sinks and a walk-in shower.
LAUNDRY and HALF BATH
The set of front loading washer and dryer is located off the kitchen by the back door. The half bath is also across the hall.
BACKYARD, SWIMMING POOL, HOT TUB
The fenced backyard is a treat with the shared hot tub and heated swimming pool of the Mill Haus next door. Note that the fence encloses the backyard for both the Beekeeper's Cottage and the Mill Haus, and there is no fence separating the yards nor an additional inside fence around the swimming pool.
*Pool is now open for 2025 (normally mid May through mid September weather permitting) -- and it is heated! **Hot tub is open year round!
Dogs are welcome in the yard, but not in the hot tub or swimming pool.
GAME ROOM ABOVE GARAGE
The game room above the garage is not included in the listed rate but is available for an additional charge of $50 per night plus a $35 cleaning fee. The rate is times the number of nights of your stay even if you use it for only one night.
The game room can be added to your stay and is available to both the Beekeeper's Cottage and the Mill Haus on a first-come-first-serve basis. It will not be shared, but the 1/2 bath in the garage is available to all guests using the swimming pool.
EXCLUSIVE USE OF THE HOT TUB, POOL, GAME ROOM, and BACKYARD
Exclusive use of the hot tub, heated swimming pool, game room, and backyard is only available when you book both the Beekeeper's Cottage and the Mill Haus together -- the houses together are referred to as the Bees Knees.
LOCATION

We loved staying at this home. The decor was cute and the place was very clean! The hosts were very responsive and accommodating. We appreciate their concern for safety while under a tornado warning.
The only thing I would suggest is to add more cookware - we had a large group and Cooked each night. We could have used another cookie sheet and large bowls for sides/salads.

We stayed at this listing for my mother-in-law's birthday and it was fantastic! The house was gorgeous, the host was wonderful and very responsive - the gifts they provided us were so kind and thoughtful. The pool was clean and made for the perfect weekend.
We had a great time and it made for a wonderful weekend away!

We loved this stay! Well-kept, clean, and adorable. We spent a significant amount of time in the pool, which was welcomed in the July heat. The home is located within walking distance of so much. We greatly enjoyed walking to the Washington Coffee Shop every morning for coffee and baked goods and then continued downtown for a walk by the river before returning back to the cottage. We also appreciated that, while the home is located close to downtown and in a friendly neighborhood, grocery stores are within close driving distance, as well. The historic charm of this home and town are unmatched.

One of our favorite places to stay in Washington! Every detail is bee oriented and ties the house together. The home is a vintage feel but with updated elements. Beds are comfy, shower pressure is great, and the hosts go above & beyond on making sure you are welcomed (we had a charcuterie board & bottle wine welcoming us!). 10/10 recommend!!

I cannot say enough good things about the Beekeepers Cottage. We did a girls trip and stayed only one night - but we all felt like VIPs from the minute we booked until the minute we left! Communication was immediate (I had several questions), we were able to check in early and leave a little later, which was so great because we arrived by train. When we arrived, we had a bottle of wine and a gorgeous charcuterie board waiting for us. The house was beyond adorable, and there were so many amazing little touches that made us feel like this was not only a wonderful place to stay, but like we had gone back in time. The beds were incredibly soft, and the bedroom set up was perfect. So thankful for the wonderful memories we made there. Even though we stay just one night! Thank you, Nick and team for the excellent experience!!!!

Beautiful home! My girls loved their rooms. It was great having our dog stay with us for our spring break too! The game room add on was totally worth it.
We had a relaxing stay. Perfect outdoor space for us as well. Enjoyed a fire and s’mores and hot tub too!
Only things that would have made it better- more lounge seating in the main space, nightlights for the girls rooms, and baking pans. I had to run out and buy a pan to make brownies.
Our number combo wasn’t working on the door at Checkin, but I called the number and was helped right away.
Overall great getaway! I would come back in the summer months when the pool is open and maybe stay in the bigger home that shares the pool. Thank you for sharing your home! Our family made a lot of great memories together!

Stayed here with a few friends over Labor Day weekend. The home was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the pool. Lots of nice extra touches from the owner - like leaving us a welcome gift of a charcuterie board, bottle of wine, and packet of coffee. Appreciated that there were beach towels for the pool and a float available as well. House is walking distance from the little downtown and river area.
My only watchout is to look closely at all the extra charges on top of the room rate, they quickly add up so review carefully to avoid surprises.

We loved our stay there! Granted we did luck out and we rented just 1 of the two homes that shared the pool and it just so happened that the other house was not rented so we had the pool to ourselves. It was so very relaxing there. We tacked on the game room so we did that in the evenings too. Super great place to stay. 4 of us stayed: 2 adults and 2 older children. Not sure if I would recommend for younger kids. Not that there are any safety issues just the house has some cute décor that would be very tempting for little hands to grab. Also the bedrooms are all upstairs and the stairs are that of a historic home, so if you have issues with steps also maybe not the easiest place to stay. But for my family it was great: plenty of room, lots of amenities, gift basket of treats from the area, etc. Also, we did not bring out dog but there was a cute basket of doggies items to make your fur-baby feel right at home too!

This is the second time we have stayed at one of Nat and Tyanns properties. They are excellent hosts responding immediately to any communication. Ashley let us know as soon as the property was available for checkin and then messaged back to see if there was anything we needed.
The properties are immaculately cleaned and absolutely gorgeous. The minute we stepped into the house it felt like home. The home is decorated beautifully all the way down to each tiny detail. We stayed in the property with the swimming pool and totally enjoyed ourselves. The neighborhood is very quiet and with the yard being completely fenced and the beautiful landscaping, we truly felt like we were on vacation. We talked about Renting this property again for a “girls” family reunion, it would be perfect.
We visited the downtown area and actually met the neighbors across the street at the antique shop. Everyone downtown was extremely friendly.
We had a small issue with one of the doors and when I contacted Nat he responded immediately. A maintenance man arrived quickly and fixed the situation and he too was so friendly and easy to talk to.
My mom and I would highly recommend these properties whether you are a small or a large group. These properties are definitely the first ones we will check when we return to Washington.

This house was perfect for a weekend getaway. The hosts checked on us through text when we arrived and promptly answered any questions. The house was super clean and super cute. Great for adults and kids. The pool and hot tub are wonderful. You will enjoy every minute of this place. We were literally looking for another time to be able to come back as we were relaxing by the pool!

Used this property as a home base during the MO Cheese Festival. 2nd time renting properties in Washington from this owner. Everything as advertised. Solid communication. Easy Check-In process. Really a beautifully restored historic building. Quiet neighborhood. Only wish the weather had been warmer to use the pool.

The property was perfect place to gather with Sisters and Nieces for a birthday weekend. We loved the location and proximity to the coffee shop, restaurants and wineries! We also loved all of the historic touches and decorating details in the home.
