Arun navigation - cut to first lock Navigation on the Arun was improved in 1790 by a short cut involving three locks and a tunnel. The last barge passed in 1889 and the cut was abandoned. This is the cut leading up to the remains of the bottom lock, which is mostly hidden in the bigger clump of bushes.
