Place was excellent! Very clean and spacious. Love the tug hills trails connect from the back of the property. Will definitely be staying here again for the next trip.
Second time staying here. The amenities in the house are fantastic. The porch is a great end of day gathering spot to talk about the day’s activities. Lovely sunrises. We really like this place!
Absolutely wonderful, private location. The house exactly as pictured and perfect for our family vacation. Atv, bicycle rides, swimming, animal farm, 1,000 Islands! Water safari and time together and nights at the firepit. Perfect for all ages. Quick response from John when needed. Thank you for a wonderful vacation. Highly recommend!
Great setting, lots of rooms and ample space for all invited.
Great Place, Clean, easy access, lots of space. Loved the open hay field where our dogs were able to run freely.

Amazing location to unwind and right in the trail system.
We have come two years in a row for Memorial Day weekend to relax and unplug while also being on the trail system with our atvs. This property is perfect for our group of adults and kids.
The owner was extremely great at communication and flexibility. The place was perfect for our needs. We had easy access to snowmobile and had the perfect space to enjoy family and friend time. Definitely plan to return!
This space was perfect for our youth group while we were attending a nearby church conference. The gathering space and variety of bedrooms met our needs nicely!
Absolutely amazing. So charming and homey. Lots of space and love the covered porch, plenty of parking for trucks, trailers and machines. We will be back every year if we can!
Nice place. Little chilly upstairs. Downstairs living area was very spacious and loved the fireplace. Great place to congregate after a long, tiring day of snowmobiling. Overall great experience.
I enjoy this property very much. It was so much more than I expected clean, spacious, comfortable well organized. The only the thing my family could think of to change is maybe getting toothpicks. Everything was great ! Truly a perfect place for family anytime of the year. Thank you
This place was perfect for my group up on our annual hunting trip. Plenty of room, all of us had our own bedrooms and beds. Way better than getting 3 or 4 hotel rooms a night for our group! If we had any questions, we contacted the host and they were quick to answer any questions we might of had. Would definitely stay again, and will probably be the way we go each year we come up to NY!
Came for a family wedding at Tug Hill Winery. Great location, very quiet and peaceful. Enjoyed long walks together down the road on side of property. Enough bedrooms for everyone to have their own room. Beds comfortable. Cooked all of our meals. Played games and did puzzles on the dining room table. Plenty of space for our extended family. Close to Copenhagen and Lowville for any amenities needed. Would stay here again. Great time with family!
For the most part everything was very nice. There were a few problems
1. The breakers kept popping when you would try to use the microwave
2. The upstairs toilet was broken
3. The heat/air did not work right
We rented the house the first week of July and had a great time.
This house is stunningly huge and very well maintained. This is NOT a run down hunting lodge. Furniture and flooring are all top notch.
We had several in our group with allergies and none of them were affected. The house is kept very clean.
The kitchen is large and very well stocked. Towels, toilet paper, and paper towels were provided. We were also happy that there was seating for 16 for meals at two larger tables.
We spent a lot of time in the yard, the screened-in porch, and the living room. We streamed a few movies and had no problems with the Internet connection.
The only small drawback is that the road is very close to the house. While very few cars went by each day (maybe 10?), they go very fast and are loud.
Thanks for letting us use the house!
I’m glad we stayed at this lodge for so many reasons. First, the layout is open with a wide floor plan. It was convenient to have two big bedrooms and a full bathroom downstairs. This made it easy for the older folks who felt more comfortable downstairs rather than try to scale the steps. The front porch area was perfect for hanging while it was raining and also when returning from riding. It has a concrete floor so its easy to clean up. The kitchen is big enough and well stocked. There is so much room outside for parking. We had 7 vehicles and 3 trailers and still had plenty of room for more. It was convenient to have a short ATV trail from the driveway directly onto the road which is legal ATV road. The shed is well stocked with firewood for the awesome fire pit. It was also convenient to have access to a garden hose/spigot to clean off the ATV’s. We explored the 400 acres on our ATV’s. Wow, such a fun time. We found existing ATV trails and also created a few of our own. And yes! We found the restoration project (truck) lol. John was very communicative and informative. VRBO overcharged me and John pointed it out. He is very honest as I probably would not have picked up on this. Our entire group was very pleased with our stay and if we ever need this much space, without hesitation, we would stay here again.
This was our 2nd visit and once again we had a great time. John is a great host and very helpful with any questions we had. The house is perfect for large groups, very comfortable.
We will definitely be returning for a third time.
If you like a farmhouse setting this is the place. Easy to get to. Sleeping was extremely comfortable.Great for a large group.large living room with plenty of seating.the dining table sat 10 people.
