Unique cozy oceanfront 2 level cottage with amazing ocean views from multiple rooms and the outdoor hot tub. A private neighborhood pathway 100 yards away leads directly to the beach. A spiral staircase connects the 2 levels inside the house, and the lower level can also be directly accessed by stairs from the outside. It is a quiet getaway that is perfect for small families. The kitchen and 2 bathrooms feature modern decor with stainless steel appliances and modern lighting. A Tesla charging port was just added to the exterior for the convenience of our guests.
4 Adults allowed per night [includes teens who are 15+], and when including small children, up to 6 persons total can be accommodated. We tend to attract small families looking for a beachfront home to satisfy every whim. While we serve the local family vacationers, long term Corporate renters are welcome during the off season months. Our beautiful home has all the amenities one would need, from the kitchen stocked with most appliances for creating that dream meal, to the free wireless set up with free streaming service, and flat screen TV's in the living area (upper level) and the bedroom (lower level) for a fine quality of entertainment . A local landline phone is provided as well. We welcome ONE small family dog (50 lbs max) for a $50 fee per booking. There is ample space to spread out with separate levels for both privacy and relaxation. We are also located in a very quiet pet friendly residential neighborhood.
Enjoy sweeping views of The Arroyo Greenbelt and Sunset Beach. Spot seals, dolphins and whales from our 2 private decks or watch Squid harvesting at night when in season. Relax in the private hot tub and watch the white water waves. You can explore the outlying areas for amusement, book a kayaking trip in Moss Landing or head north for a full day at The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, or take a trip to any of the local wineries. Spend the afternoon browsing in the shops in the quaint Capitola Village. Heading South, explore Downtown Monterey and the Monterey Bay Marine Aquarium. A few miles further places you right in the center of Carmel By The Sea. Whether you choose north or south - a full day of fun, entertainment and relaxation awaits you.
You can also relax all day on our two decks facing the ocean and the beach with an exciting book and a glass of wine, or just chill in the hot tub located on the lower deck.
A week long stay will allow you to explore our beautiful Central Coast and leave you with memories to last a lifetime!
Month long bookings are NOT accepted during June, July and August, as we have returning guests who love to enjoy our home during this period. Bookings for 28 days or more are charged 2 cleaning fees, so that a cleaning service can be provided during their stay.
There is open parking space available for ONE CAR ONLY in front of the house.
NO SMOKING OR USE OF ILLICIT DRUGS allowed on the property or in our private neighborhood - including our personal indoor and outdoor space surrounding this property.
The stairs leading to the beach from our lower level is for ADULT USE ONLY, and not recommended for small children, especially after sunset. Please use the neighborhood pathway when accompanied by children under 8 years of age.

Wow! Where do I start there are so many great things to say about this beach home and the host’s who allowed us to stay. Adi and Mitra are amazing very helpful and even reached out to make sure all is well during our stay. The home was very clean when we arrived and quite comfy and cozy. The views from the balcony are stunning. We even saw a few whales go by on our last day. The beach is amazing and at times it feels like it’s your own private beach as there are very few people around. The walk down to the beach is a breeze, it’s the stair climb back up the hill of which seems to be 100 steps that gets ya. So prepare yourself for that one. Our kids and the dog as well as my wife and I had an amazing time.Thank you so much Adi and Mitra for allowing us to stay in your home. Hope to do it again in the near future.

Excellent place to stay in a very reasonable price

This house is so cute! And right on the water! We’re so glad we brought binoculars because we could see the whales from the window, which really got us excited for our whale watch. House had all the amenities, and heaters for when it’s chilly. If you plan on going down to the water, you better be ready for a glute workout because there are over 100 stairs to the beach. There are two parking spaces, but if you have an SUV, you will need to take both spaces on diagonal. My only complaint is that the sheets on the downstairs queen bed or synthetic and not cotton.

Great Stay fir Our 40th Anniversary

It's a great property and a great location. The spiral staircase is a little tricky but other than that it was great for my husband myself and our dog.

Ocean view & access, such a treat

Funky layout but a great place to stay! The kitchen is well stocked for cooks (just missing a whisk to whip cream for our strawberries!). Access to the beach is via a long stretch of stairs, but resting spots along the way make it easier, and the views on the way down are wonderful too. Hosts were very welcoming, thank you!

Relaxing

This is our third stay at the Dolphin House. We love the views and sounds of the waves, love access to the beach and location. Our favorite restaurants are The Whole Enchilada and Phil’s Fish Market. We had a great time getting family together, playing games and walking on the beach! Can’t wait for next time!

Holidays at the Beach!

Overall we had a great stay and the hosts were very responsive. The location was peaceful and we could sit on the deck and watch the waves or walk down to the beach every day of our stay. Other perks, the hosts had decorated for the holidays, so we were able to just show up and enjoy. When it was chillier outside, we loved that we could turn on the fire place and enjoy the flicker or going in the hot tub.Location was great for day trips to Santa Cruz, Monterey and Moss Landing. The only minor challenge is that my partner is 6'5" and the downstairs bathroom and one of the bedrooms (as noted by the host) is not ideal for taller folks/ has a beam that my partner had to be mindful of. We also chose to bring luggage to the lower level using the outside staircase rather than the interior spiral staircase.

Everything we needed!

My family and I just got back from spending 3 nights in this beach cottage and loved it! It was everything we needed for our little family getaway! It was more than enough room for our family of 5 and our little dog. Our 2 boys loved the built in bunk beds! The double decks with breathtakingly views, the private access to the beach, the hot tub, the quiet neighborhood.. all a plus!! Adi was great with communication and was an awesome host. We would love to visit again in the future! Thank you for having us!

Great Getaway

Clean, well kept home. Excellent location in quiet neighborhood right next to the beach. Host is very communicative. Two recommendations: Install a garbage disposal and install new dishwasher. The current dishwasher kept falling out that we thought we broke it! Overall, we would come again and recommend the house to others.

Amazing trip!!

This was one of our favorite trips ever! The house is adorable and the owners were so kind. The view and sound of the waves were perfection. I have seen reviews about no dogs on the beach, but the super sweet neighbor below us assured us that if we have a leash we are fine and she was right! Coast guard even passed us and waved and there were many dogs down there. Cannot wait to come back here ASAP!! Adorable neighborhood too. I have been coming to the Santa Cruz mountains for 40 years and never knew about this hidden treasure in Watsonville!

Beautiful views

Loved my time at the rental. Clean, decorated nicely, the kitchen was well stocked and loved the labels on the cabinets/drawers. The views from the balconies were amazing! Excellent communication with the owner. Unfortunately, the hot tub was unavailable! The owner went above and beyond trying to get it fixed for me! I really appreciated that!!! Overall, very happy with my rental experience at this property!

Best Long Weekend EVER!

the property was more than big enough for three of us! It sleeps 6 actually. Beautiful view of the ocean and beach. Hottub was clean and in working condition. There were all sorts of amenities. The kitchen was stocked to make gourmet feasts! The owners even left us a bottle of wine! We absolutely loved our stay there. There were 50+ steps down to the beach but the stairs are well maintained and there is a resting spot if necessary, my 75 year old friend made it up and down no problem! We ran into the neighbors who were very helpful and nice. I will be returning soon I hope!!

The bomb cyclone

We arranged for this house months ago but arrived for the bomb cyclone. We tried to check with the owners about the conditions before we arrived and they were not in the area but assured us all was fine. Roads were flooded. Businesses were closed. The winds of >20mph seemed as though they would rip the house apart as the walls and ceilings that were not cinderblock, pulsated. Not clear in the photos were that the bedrooms are down a small metal spiral staircase. We left 5 days early without reimbursement just to avoid a second storm surge.

Cozy getaway literally on the beach

My husband and I wanted a quick beach getaway for his birthday. This place was a gem. We are both introverts and loved the quiet neighborhood. We are both working professionals in our early 30's and needed the peaceful setting to get away from work. It was far away from the hustle and bustle of silicon valley- yet so easy to get to from San Jose. There's direct Beach access stairs right on the property which was pretty convenient. Pictures on VRBO doesn't do this adorable place any justice. It's definitely cuter in person! The property itself is rustic but the kitchen had all the gadget you need for cooking. One thing they didn't have was coffee but no biggie. That was our fault- we should've packed some! They have both Keurig and coffee maker. I just want to thank the owner again for letting us bring our 2 pugs. You usually can only bring 1 dog but he was kind enough to allow both of them to join. My pugs had a blast walking through the neighborhood and exploring! For everyone with dogs, the property has a cordless vacuum that's super convenient for cleaning up excess fur and sand on the floor. If you know your dog sheds alot - vacuuming after your pets is a nice gesture to do for the cleaners & owner. We also brought alot of beach towels and dog blankets to cover the couches and any surfaces the dogs may sneak and jump on. We didn't want to ruin their comfy furniture. I think this property can comfortably fit a family of 4-6 . Although families with toddlers should be wary of the spiral staircase. It's a bit steep. All in all we had a relaxing long weekend and we would absolutely stay again if the owner let's us. Thank you again so much!

One of the Best!

The view....cannot top this one....up high but very close to the crashing waves! Private stairs to a beach that you only see a few people walking by....very private and quiet. The rental was so fun...they have thought of everything and it was just relaxation time. Very clean and you can smell that it was clean. Side note...the rental is in distance for Door Dashing from Watsonville....huge plus if you dont have enough umph left after a busy day. On our short list of must go back places for us. 6 stars if it was avaliable!

Watsonville Beach House

What a fantastic beach cottage. It was spotless, the views are spectacular, and it had easy access to the beach (you can take the stairs from the actual house or take the ramp from the state park entry). I hope to stay again soon!

View Vibe PERFECTION

Loved the Dolphin cottage!It was everything we and our pup needed.We could see go miles and miles is and it was spectacularly beautiful.Quiet neighborhood filled with sweet dog loving people.Our hosts, Adi & Mitra were terrific.
