It’s hard to find such a clean camping place. We couldn’t get the microwave working to cook a meal!

This was my favorite place that I stayed on a week-long journey down the Great Ocean Road and beyond. I ended up staying two nights because I was so comfortable in the "Black Room" at this elegant, historical property. It is a special place to stay.

OK, so it's a real prison. And we were staying off-season, and by chance we were the only guests there that night... and the check-in was all automatic. So the whole thing was kind of surreal as we walked around the prison yard, reading the signs about historic prison life etc. You REALLY get the vibe of being in an old gaol, so don't stay there if you're going to get freaked out by things like that.
