Gorgeous home was very clean and offered all the amenities you could hope for. We had a great time and the hosts were very responsive to any little problems we had.
Spent a great 7 days here; fully stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, plenty of room to spread out, great fires, played bocce ball every day, rented the pontoon for the week for swimming out in the lake and fishing, fantastic eagle watching! Huge eagles nest a half mile down the road at Beach Rd.
I had rented the cabin for a little getaway for my family and me. It was very relaxing, and just what we needed. There were many amenities that were offered. Including a lily pad in the boathouse, which the kiddos loved. Highly recommended stay.
Moose Lodge on Big Yellow Lake - Webster Wisconsin
The property is great, clean, spacious. Loved the fire pit with a great supply of wood, big deck, gazebo. Fully stocked kitchen, Beautiful windows across front of property for lake views. Hosts were great - timely responses, accommodating, they sincerely cared about our well-being and we were enjoying our time away. Thank-you
The space and the all amenities were perfect. The lake is amazing, the swimming and the all lake toys provided were awesome. The fishing was a little slow but that probably had to do with the heat and the fishermen, ha! The hosts were very responsive and super friendly. The location was perfect being just 5 minutes from town and close to a few other fun towns but we didn't really leave much. We would definitely recommend and will likely go again.
We had a great time again this year. We enjoyed the lake for fishing, boating, and swimming. We rented the pontoon for three days and it worked just fine. Enjoyed sitting on the big deck for meals and having a drink. The host are very friendly and responsive to any questions we had. Our group recommends this place for a relaxing vacation.....
We plan an annual getaway every year and try different lakes for swimming and fishing. Tom & Deidi are super hosts and were quick to respond with any issues. Our grands enjoyed jumping off the dock and playing on the lily pad. We rented their pontoon for a day and it was well worth it! Taking a spin around the lake and doing a sunset cruise is a must!! Caught enough fish for a nice fish fry. Also enjoyed the fire pit for an evening of s’mores and drinks after our cookout. It was a fun time and the “cabin” offered lots of space for our group.
Cabin was nice and worked well for us. However we were surprised that some basic supplies such as dish soap, Kleenex for example were not provided, very limited selection of food seasonings and personal care items such as shampoo, body wash etc. were not included, as they have always been at other places that we have stayed. We did get to take advantage of the lake for swimming for the first few days, however
after a couple days the shoreline was thick with green algae, which is quite common at this time of year (late Aug. We did go to Minong and spent an afternoon at the jack link rec center indoor pool, very nice and reasonably priced at $5 for a day pass. Note that the pool is only available for open swimming on Thursday and Fridays, as we learned when we got there on Tuesday 🤔
Had a great time. Cabin was spacious indoor clean. Lake was very large and shallow around the shore lines. Caught enough fish for a fish fry. Overall we all enjoyed the stay.
The Big Moose Cabin is well appointed and very comfortable. The Keatings are warm and welcoming people. Kayaking the yellow river was peaceful and good for the soul! Seeing eagles was one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
Our family recently stayed at Moose Lodge and had a wonderful time. Tom and Deidi are great hosts! We are grateful for the pontoon rental which got us around the lake and everyone was able to be together out on the lake. My granddaughter was absolutely thrilled with the jet ski ride. Her giggles and laughter during the ride were just precious. Fun places to eat and golfing close by.
Thank you Tom and Deidi for your hospitality!
This property was great. Would definately recommend it to family and friends. Home owners were very prompt about getting back to is when we had any question. Home was clean and had everything we needed. Was close to grocery store, bait shop, many resturants and activities for kids.
Booked because Eagles were featured in the listing. Saw many during our visit. The property is well kept and well furnished. The kids and adults had a great time. The walk to the lake is steep and had to hold hands of the little one walking. There is a golf cart to rent but not ready for that yet.
Great Family Vacation at this Well-Appointed Cabin on the Lake
We had a wonderful stay at Tom and Deidi's cabin. The house was perfect for four adults and a handful of teenagers. The kids loved sleeping and hanging out together in the bunkroom. The kitchen was well-stocked had everything we needed to make big family dinners. The large deck was perfect for meals or relaxing and reading and was even big enough for some rousing cornhole games. Renting the pontoon or speedboat here is a must. We had so much fun swimming off the boat in the middle of the lake and at the shallow, sandy mouth of the river that runs through Yellow Lake. We enjoyed morning paddles in the kayaks and night-time s'mores at the firepit. Overall, a great vacation!
Our family stayed at this cabin for almost a week. We had 4 children with us - ages ranging 10-16. The cabin was perfect - very clean with plenty of room for the 6 of us. It was stocked with all of the kitchen supplies we needed. We used the kayaks that came with the rental. There is a bit of a steep hill leading to the lake, but the path was nicely maintained, and there is availability of a golf cart if needed. The lake was beautiful, and we caught bluegill, walleye and northern. The owners were super nice and very accommodating. We would definitely recommend this location for families who enjoy fishing, boating with a relaxing "up north" feel.
The check in process was so easy and the house was very nice. The kitchen was fully stocked, nice bedrooms and the kids enjoyed the loft area. We spent most of our days out riding, but used the grill for dinner and lunch a couple of times. The lake was beautiful as well. The location of the house was perfect as we rode our ATV’s easily to all the trails. We had a small issue with a power outage in the middle of the night, surprisingly the owners responded within in minutes of my emailing them. Unfortunately, we were at the mercy of the electric company but had power restored within a few hours. I look forward to staying here again next time we are in WI for another family trip.
We really enjoyed our time on Yellow Lake. We found the property to be clean and cozy. T&D were awesome to work with. The home had all the amenities we needed plus a nice outdoor patio with lounge chairs, a screened gazebo and fire pit with picnic table. Wished there was a little less obstructed view of the lake but the woods were beautiful and the squirrels were fat and friendly. The loft was perfect for our three kids to hideaway. Plenty of space for the five of us. The kitchenette table was the perfect size for board games and cards. The walk to the lake was a lot easier than the way back up but we managed the entire week on foot…would recommend renting the golf cart. We enjoyed using the kayaks at the river (so fun!) and going to The Rec and Yellow Lake Lodge by boat for dinner. Try the chicken sandwich and mini shot! A must. Saw tons of sturgeon jumping, so cool. Caught plenty of pike and larger than life panfish but the walleye and muskies proved to be a tougher fish. Maybe next time!
Part 1:
I can not stress enough how unbelievably kind and caring the VRBO owners, Tom and Deidi are. They are what make this trip and property worth the travel. The reviews speak for themselves on how communicative and responsive these two are at meeting any needs.
Unfortunately, we had two hiccups at our stay that were completely out of their control. 1. The property uses a septic tank, and the pump was not operating correctly, which meant we had to limit our use of water to avoid any flooding inside the home. Deidi and Tom had this addressed day one, and refunded part of stay due to this. 2. The property had a hatching of Springtail flies, that are common at the beginning of August in this area. They are completely harmless, but because they are so short lived, no local exterminators will come out to clear these bugs out. We had issues the first few nights with these bugs, as they were all over the walls, windows and even in our bedding. Again, Deidi and Tom were very understanding, accommodating, and provided what we needed to keep the bugs under control! They again, refunded part of our stay due to this. I suggest reading up on the bugs in this area at the time of year you are traveling to be prepared. Even with lots of bug sprays and zappers, bugs are everywhere!
