The Space:
Discover Oldwood Cottage, a charming 17th-century house boasting heaps of original features and beautiful woodwork throughout. Step into the spacious farmhouse kitchen equipped with an AGA stove and all the mod cons. Perfect for family gatherings, gather around the dining table and enjoy meals with the wood burner roaring. Next, retire into the cosy lounge to a second wood burner and movie nights on the smart TV. On the way, you'll pass a glass tile over the cottage's old well!
You'll also find a sunroom off the kitchen, ideal for relaxing with a book and secure bike storage. This and the living room both lead out to a beautiful, wraparound garden. It's south-facing and has expansive views of the Somerset levels, with Glastonbury on one side and Quantocks on the other. You can even enjoy fruit from the orchard when in season! You'll also find a fire pit here for warmer evenings.
Five bedrooms offer comfortable sleeping arrangements. Upstairs are two king and two twin bedrooms that can also be made up as super-kings, providing flexibility for your group. Two family bathrooms cater to your convenience. One with a bath, shower and loo, and the other with a shower and loo. The cottage also includes an additional downstairs WC. Adjacent, find an additional king room with a dreamy desk that looks out over the Levels.
You won't struggle to park either, with 6 spaces between the garage and driveway. All in all, the cottage guarantees a convenient and peaceful stay.
Guest Access:
Guests will have full access to the cottage, garage and garden.

Just 20 minutes from the historic city of Wells, 15 minutes from mystical Glastonbury, and 15 minutes from the dramatic landscapes of Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole, it’s an ideal base for family holidays, outdoor adventures, or peaceful retreats. Enjoy walking, cycling, climbing, and birdwatching in nearby nature reserves like Ham Wall and Avalon Marshes.
Foodies are well catered for: in Wedmore, enjoy upmarket pub fare and ales at The Swan or light lunches at Pumpkin Cafe. In Glastonbury, dine at Queen of Cups or grab fish and chips from Knights. Getting Around:
Due to the remote nature of rural Somerset, a vehicle is recommended to make the most of your stay here. Off-road parking for 6 vehicles is available with 1 in the garage and 5 on the driveway. For those who cycle, secure storage for bikes is available in both the garage and the sunroom.
Other Things to Note:
Please note that the gardeners may visit during your stay. They come every 2 weeks, usually on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on the weather. Please get in touch if you have any concerns about the visit.
From October to April, we provide one bag of logs per stay. If you run out, most fuel stations in the area, as well as general stores, garden centres, etc., stock logs.
