"Fantastic location and a lovely flat. The skylights make it feel really light and airy, with fantastic sea views. It was exactly what we needed for our mini break in Devon. We also had a meal at their restaurant downstairs, the Flame Factory, which was wonderful. The staff were absolutely fantastic and so warm and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!"

"Very nice room with sea view, unfortunately very steep stairs to get there and as suffering mobility issues, not the best, although staff were not aware. Breakfast excellent, and evening meal for 7 highly commented on favourably, hot plates and food. Unfortunately a bout of food poisoning occurred overnight, although the source cannot be confirmed but suspected. Would recommend and stay again. Chair to be placed in room in September after renovations will be a bonus."

"Wir hatten einen rundum perfekten Aufenthalt bei Derek und können diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.Die Lage ist einfach traumhaft – direkt am Wasser und in einer wunderschönen Umgebung, die zum Entspannen und Entdecken einlädt. Das Haus selbst ist mit viel Liebe eingerichtet, äußerst geschmackvoll und bietet wirklich alles, was man für einen erholsamen Urlaub benötigt. Die Ausstattung lässt keine Wünsche offen, alles war sehr sauber, gepflegt und in einem hervorragenden Zustand.Besonders hervorheben möchten wir die ausgezeichnete Kommunikation mit Derek. Er war jederzeit freundlich, hilfsbereit und schnell erreichbar. Alle Informationen zum Aufenthalt waren klar und verständlich, sodass An- und Abreise völlig unkompliziert verliefen.Ein weiterer Tipp für zukünftige Gäste: Das Restaurant The Flame Factory direkt nebenan können wir ebenfalls uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Das Essen war hervorragend, die Atmosphäre sehr angenehm und der Service ausgesprochen freundlich – eine perfekte Ergänzung zu diesem wunderschönen Aufenthalt.Wir haben uns von der ersten bis zur letzten Minute unglaublich wohlgefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Vielen Dank, Derek, für diese wundervolle Unterkunft und deine herzliche Gastfreundschaft – wir vergeben mit voller Überzeugung 5 Sterne!"

"Just a really lovely cottage, beautifully decorated inside and stunning views of the estuary from the garden. Curlew Cottage is also in such a good location, with walks towards Northam one way and 5 minutes to Appledore along colourful Irsha Street the other.We parked in Torridge Road car park the first night, which made for easy unloading of luggage and the rest of the week in the main Churchfields car park where there was always a space.A lovely summer's stay...."

"Das Cottage war absolut entzückend. Alt und neu in gemütlicher Kombination, Wohnzimmer und Schlafzimmer gemütlich, gute Betten, viel Komfort. Das Bad war ein Traum! Man hat sich sehr gerne im Haus aufgehalten. Zum Kochen alles da, was man braucht, die hintere Terrasse gut zu nutzen. Die Lage in Appledore gut, um abends einen Spaziergang zu den diversen Pubs zu machen. Wir waren mit dem Fahrrad auf dem Tarker Trail unterwegs und haben in der Umgebung alles angeschaut, was für uns sehenswert war. Winziges Manko ist die derzeitige Baustelle direkt vor dem Haus, die leider auch langfristig die Aussicht auf den Fluss beeinträchtigen wird. Aber dafür kann das wunderschöne Haus ja nichts!Ach ja. Es war heiß und wir waren sehr sportlich unterwegs…für eine Woche okey, bei zwei Wochen wäre eine Waschmaschine schon toll! "
