Brattleboro is a nice small town and north of the hotel are perhaps the loveliest small towns in Vermont, with Putney being our favorite! Relaxed, good food and very nice people cap off the beautiful and largely undisturbed back country roads as well as an awesome Coop and country store."

"It was different. I liked that. The entrance was to the rear of the parking lot that made it seem safe. It was right between a McDonald's and a Wendy's that you could walk to. It was not fancy but yet it was nice. Served our purpose. The guy at front desk was real nice. The only thing I would have liked was more light. "

"Very beautiful, peaceful property with lovely porches. Everything was extremely well maintained and the staff was thoughtful, helpful and kind. The public rooms are welcoming and comfortable, and the porches are great. The private room was small but just the right amount of space. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was fresh and delicious with many diverse offerings. The granola was excellent."

"I stay at a lot of hotels. Here are just a few things I like about Black Mountain Inn. 1.- There's a side table on each side of the bed, convenient for CPAPs. 2.- There are open electrical outlets for our use. 3.- They provide bar soap, and the soap is not white, so I can find it when I drop it in the water. 4.- The chairs outside each room are comfortable and -- thanks to upstairs balcony -- dry ... even when it's been raining. 5.- Extremely friendly and helpful front desk staff. "

"Staff was great. Room pretty clean, but cracked window, pool out of service but the front outside had beautiful landscaping and picnic table. 0 frills, yet location was perfect for our stay."
