When you get here it looks like a basic but dated conference hotel but it goes down from there. They had us park in the fire lane with other cars because trucks (bless them 100% they definitely need rest too) have taken over 2/3 of the lot. There’s nothing like being worried that your vehicle could be towed. Get up to the room, the smell of a HOT room that someone possibly smoked in at one point or another was not pleasant. Turn on the A/C, open the door for a little bit… gets somewhat better. Ok, beds look clean and the towels/linens and it’s just for a night, right? Plus, the really nice cars that DID get a parking spot look like I wasn’t the only one duped into staying here so ok, we’ll deal. Turn on the TV to check the local news… TV doesn’t work…ugh! Call downstairs to explain. FD asks if the TV is on, then whether the direct tv box is on. I explain that it’s clearly on because there is analog static and the blue power light is on. I explained that I do understand from my experience that I know how to check the power first. The guy tells me that if I had help desk experience before that the power light being on means the TV is off. When I explain that’s not correct because I am watching it power on, he says that if I know IT helpdesk, then “I” should know how to fix it. FD only says that they’ll “try” to send someone up to fix it. You guessed it…no one comes. Wake up to a sore throat and shower in a chipped tub to run out. Changed return reservation to someplace else.
