Lots of shopping/chain restaurants but we were attending a siblings funeral so no time to be a tourist. Did grow up near the area, Kennywood Park is historic and a great place for a family visit.

Great location and upscale hotel
"Wonderful service and a beautiful (if a bit dated) hotel. We felt very pampered over all, we only wish they had cleaned our room a bit when they brought us extra towel. We did leave a card asking them to change our sheets. It’s also a great location in the city"

It is a shame the Mall is in shambles, but the external shopping is still a decent option. Kennywood has seemed to lost some of it's connection with the common folk. that takes away from the charm of the place.
