"Check in was advertised at 3.00pm, arrived at 4.50pm but room was not available & hadn't been cleaned as the cleaner didn't turn up? Menu was reduced as the chef didn't turn up either and no toilet rolls in the bathroom. I gave my breakfast order the night before but it was not passed onto the cover chef in the morning, so in all not a great experience but...would I stay there again...definitely yes. Michelle and her team were amazing, they did everything possible to make my stay enjoyable and it was. The room was clean & spacious. The hotel is full of character & is attracting locals & passers by. Michelle and her partner had just recently taken over and need time to settle in and put their stamp on the business. I will certainly return and stay longer next time. Thank you Michelle and all"

"Hotel was well run and the chef kindly cooked some food of mine due to numerous dietary restricttions, and did it beautifully. Dog was welcome and much kindness shown to both of us. Would highly recommend particularly to solo travellers or those with dog."

"Great location minutes away from cafés, pubs and eateries. Funicular virtually next door. Lovely old hotel, clean and full of character though indeed of a little tlc. We were made very welcome and our rooms were upgraded at no extra cost with amazing views across the valley. Very dog friendly and would definitely stay there again. Thank you. "
