Alex's house is a great place to stay for a weekend getaway! The peace and quiet coupled with surreal mountain views made for a memorable trip with friends.
Place was great. Spacious, clean and killer views. Kitchen is modern and well equipped making meals was easy. Very quiet location but still convenient to Killington/Pico.
Alex was excellent with communication. The house was unique and comfortable. The location was beautiful. Everything was very well thought out. Upstairs bedrooms were a bit chilly but Alex provided space heaters which made it all good. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of paper towels, napkins, utensils, foil/saran wrap, pots/pans/serving dishes, etc. Much appreciated. We enjoyed playing cards at the extra seating table and watching football in one of the cozy downstairs rooms. For skiing, Killington 35-40 minutes away, Pico closer at less than 30 minutes. We did not mind the drive at all to the mountains. A lovely place to stay!
Alex was extremely responsive and provided perfect guidance and recommendations for our stay. Property is charming and very well maintained. Pictures do not do it justice.
Great stay at a classic Vermont farmhouse. Easy ride to Killington for skiing. Very clean, easy location to access, and host Alex very responsive and accomodating.
This Vermont farmhouse in West Rutland combines a central location with a pastoral setting with amazing views of the Green mountains. Easy travel to Killington/Pico, and Woodstock, VT. Alex is an excellent host.
This was the perfect location for a family reunion over the holidays. Close to skiing at Killington, a variety of spaces in the house for different activities and moments of the day, the large kitchen was perfect for holiday baking and Alex’s guide provided great ideas for things to do in the area.
My family of 4 stayed at Alex’s farmhouse for 2 nights for Thanksgiving. Directions and check-in were clear and easy. The property is off a quiet dirt road and there is a scenic pond near the house and amazing views. Upon entering the glass room, we were pleased to see how beautiful it was with all the windows, exposed beams and slate wood burning fireplace. Continuing on into the house, the kitchen was modern and updated with all the essentials for cooking while enjoying beautiful mountain views out the window. We loved all the antique rooms, furniture and pictures. It was a perfect blend and balance of antique charm with modern updates like the kitchen and bathrooms. Alex was a great host, communicating before, during and after our trip to make sure all was well. The property both inside and out was clean and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again when in the area!
This historic home was filled with so much love, thoughtfulness and care. Alex was a great host who embodied the feel of his home. Perfect stay for my Birthday Ski weekend! Thank You!
This was a perfect property for us. The location with great views was matched by the character and quality of the inside furniture and attention to design details. It also had a very well appointed kitchen, better quality than in the usual rental. All in all, a place to soothe the nerves.
What a spectacular spot to host a fall Leadership Summit. The leaves were at peak color, the weather was great and the house lent itself well with plenty of space to meet, relax and eat great meals. Communication with Alex was fantastic. Will be back in the future!
We had a wonderful stay at this impeccably maintained, charming home. It is competely modern in conveniencies (gorgeous bathrooms and kitchen, comfortable beds), extremely comfortable to hang out in, but feels very historic. The furniture and every detail is superb. We were blown away and already had high expectations. The outside is similarly gorgeous - fabulous views, wonderful privacy, a gem buried deep in the Green Mountains. We simply can't recommend this property highly enough. As an added plus, the owner was super helpful with suggestions about things to see/do. We'll be back!
What a fabulous home! It was spotlessly clean and every amenity was thoughtfully available: a fully stocked kitchen making meal prep and cooking a breeze; ample blankets for the chilly nights; firewood for the fireplace and wood stove; and a great supply of towels. Alex's home has been beautifully decorated and furnished. Lovely antiques and deep couches make it interesting and very cozy. We really enjoyed dining in the glass house with a fire burning in the fireplace after a long day of leaf peeping. The glass house is perfect on a rainy day as well as a sunny day, and watching the full moon rise through the windows is pure magic.Alex is a very attentive and responsive host with great suggestions for things to do in the Rutland area. He listens to his guests and recommends activities based on their interests. His love for his home and the surrounding area captures his guests... we didn't want to leave! We enjoyed the gondola ride up Killington Mountain, hiking the Appalachian Trail over the suspension bridge over Clarendon Gorge, hiking the AT/LT to the Maine Junction in Giffords Woods, visiting Sugarbush Farm, walking through the quaint town of Woodstock, visiting Bingham Falls near Stowe, and completing the corn maze at Hathaway Farm. But what made this The Perfect Vacation was this beautiful home, the center point and highlight of our trip. On our last night, we saw the Milky Way and several shooting stars.I highly recommend staying here! Words fail!
