"Check in was easy and location was good, thise are the only positives. The property is extremely dated and dirty. The furnishings in communal areas were torn, threadbare, stained, dirty and smelly. The carpets were dirty, covered in dog and human hair. There was mould above the shower and dirt and mould under the sink. The areas around the toilets were soiled with rusted old urine splashes. "Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very tired. Furniture was worn and dirty. Front revolving door was so dirty your fingers would slip on the handrail and your reflection in the dirty glass window was blurry. The tablecloths in the diningroom had sun spots and green stains. You can tell the management was investing in the exterior with fresh paint but the interior needed excessive work"

"We upgraded from a cosy room to a superior room. The room itself was lovely, though quite small and the bathroom had a roll top bath. The room was extremely clean and the decor was lovely. However, I would say that there was little space to put any of our things, little surface space in the bedroom and the bathroom. Our room was on the top floor; we were asked before arrival whether we had an problem with stairs, and there were quite a few levels to go up so be aware of this. I do have one gripe! There was a constant humming noise in our room, I expect coming from the extractor fan that was outside the bedroom window. We did put up with it but for anyone who likes silence, it would have drove you round the twist. There was a small radio on in our room when we arrived; so wondering if that was to disguise it. I assume this humming noise would have been heard in the rooms either side of us as well. We were in Room 20. Again, lovely room, was let down by the noise."

"The hotel is useful as a basic stop over. Room was basic, decor requires attention in terms of cleaning and renovation. Parking was £6 per day although the staff didn’t tell me that on street parking is free on Sunday so I wasted money. The water supply for the shower was weak and only reached tepid and exciting the shower was cold. I am not going back to this hotel again."

"I struggle to understand how this is a 4 star hotel, one bath towel in a double room. Asked reception for another and the expectation was for us to come down and collect it! Hotel public areas refurbished nicely however corridors to rooms haven't seen a decent makeover in what seems like years. Narrow corridors, squeaking floorboards, old fashioned keys to rooms. Shower door had the biggest gap. Breakfast was their only saving grace."
