This place was perfect for our large family. Close by to many beautiful sites and hiking trails, we were able to get out during the day and come back in the evening and enjoy the spacious house with all the amenities. Very relaxing and peaceful
Second time we have stayed at this great place. Very clean. Very accommodating. Well stocked kitchen. Plenty of space for parking. Very quiet neighborhood in the winter. We will be back again!
We enjoyed this private beautiful hideaway / perfectly located as we revisited the UP areas we had been to as children.
A big Thank You to Lisa snd Tom - our attentive hosts for this trip down memory lane. So many beautiful memories.
Spent a week with friends and our dogs! Even though the snow was sparse this season, we were still able to find snow on the seasonal non-plowed roads. With normal snow, the snowmobile trails would be easy to access. Hosts were great! We were welcomed with some locally made bread, jam and coffee. Nice amenities in the kitchen. We already booked for next year!
Feels secluded but isn't. 15 minutes to town (10 if you drive like me)
If you like fires get your wood from the host. She left us a generous pile.
Try the Baldy Shores Kayaking on the Indian River.
Couple decent golf courses close by. Lake Superior & Pictured Rocks Nat'l Shoreline are also easy drives. Hiking opportunities everywhere.
Hosts are great. We had a couple very minor no big deal problems we let them know about - they took care of it even though it could've waited.
And yes once you're off WiFi GPS goes to sh*t.
The Hiawatha Hideaway was a hidden gem. The property was clean, well maintained, and well managed. It was a little hard to find at first because of internet issues (not the fault of the owners) but the owners did everything they could to help us navigate.
Location was nice: close to Munising and Pictured Rocks, where we spent most of our time, and Hiawatha National Forest, where our (adult) kids were camping.
The upper floor, though not as roomy as it appeared in the photos, was nicely refinished and modern. The basement was even more impressive, with a walk-in shower and spacious "entertainment" room for lounging.
The back yard, though not completely private, felt like we were camping. Floodlights were nice for security, but made star-gazing a little tricky!
The hosts were very attentive and quick to communicate with us about any issues or questions.
The property is nestled away from the road but also conveniently located to grocery, restaurants, etc. The location is ideal for visiting the many beautiful sites within a couple hours drive. The weather didn’t cooperate so we weren’t able to enjoy the fire pit or the beautiful outdoor area - hopefully next trip!
We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was beautiful and had everything we needed to enjoy our time. Lisa was great about checking in with us. Highly recommend!!
The property was perfect and about 15 minutes outside of Munising. It was a nice quiet location and was a great place to relax after exploring Pictured Rocks and other area attractions.
The house was very comfortable for the four adults in our group and had all the amenities you would want. The location was perfect for visiting Pictured Rocks. Hosts were attentive and made sure we had the info we needed to enjoy the July 4th festivities. We would definitely stay again.
This place was even more beautiful than the pictures. Extra clean and the owners went above and beyond to make sure every aspect of our stay was perfect. Will definitely be planning another trip here.
We were in the area for a snowmobile trip, it did not disappoint! There was so much snow that one of the short cuts to the trails was closed, so we had to ride on the side of the road for longer than expected, but that was the only issue that we had.Lisa and Tom are great hosts, friendly and easy to contact and they got right back to us.The kitchen has everything that you need, which we haven't been able to say about other homes that we have stayed at, thank you for that!I would like to come back to see the area in a different season too.Thank you again,Kathy, Jim, Cindy and Steve
