The staff were nice and the hotel clean and quiet. It was an older building but it had been maintained well - especially inside. My wife was happy and that is not easily achieved :)

Unplanned Short Notice Visit

We have stayed here a few times now and once again we were happy with the Motel and the support from staff. The little extra's like disposable tooth brushes and shaver in the bathroom were much appreciated and came in very handy.

It was a hurried booking and the price was more than reasonable, so I wasn't sure what to expect. What I got was a 1 bedroom room (I had booked a studio) with full kitchen, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner in the shower, sealed toothbrush & toothpaste packages in the bathroom. Sure the place has a bit of age on it but it was all in very clean. The beds were comfortable and the sheets had that fresh laundry smell.

Initially the manager tried to put me into a unit around the back that had a totally flooded carpark and was impassable. He then said he would 'upgrade me'. ?? The upgraded unit was dirty and I mean dirty. I will not be returning or recommending.

You pay for what you get. A good price, and surprisingly comfortable unit. And reasonably quiet considering the roadworks happening over the 3 nights of our stay Very handy to supermarkets and takeaways, and close to town centre. Would recommend, especially for those on a biudget.

Decent place overall. Parking was a little tight so if you’ve got a large car it’s not amazing. Room had kitchen and some plates etc. no place to wash these up though other than the sink in the bathroom. Needs a bit of paint and some modernising.

Friendly reception, nice clean room and all essentials provided. Just found room quite noisy especially plumbing, next door neighbours showering at 4am sounded like a jet engine! Visitor book needs attending to as was sticky with old coffee. Small issues but worth checking when cleaning. Comfy bed so will stay here again.

Overnight in Whangarei

This was a great budget hotel with comfortable beds. It has an unusual layout with walls at various angles. My sister and I had booked a two bedroom which was actually a one bedroom with a bed in the lounge and a seperate bedroom. It had a nice big TV with SkyTV channels. I was a bit skeptical on arrival as the hotel is on a busy road squashed between an office type building, McDonalds and a school. It looked neat and tidy with just a driveway with parking on the side and in front of the units. Would be better to get a room towards the back of the property to avoid road noise. An older type of hotel but very clean. The beds were very comfortable with clean fresh bedding. There were a few decorations too many for my taste ( plastic flowers, lacy doilys, toilet mat etc) It would be good to have some art work more in keeping with the 50's - 60's syle fittings but that is just a visual thing. The curtains could be rehung as a few hooks had come undone.
