Looking South along the Cromford Canal, about 1km South of Whatstandwell. The picture clearly shows the four forms of transport along this section of the valley, from left to right: the canal and its towpath, railway line, road (the A6) and the river Derwent.

At the National Tramway Museum in Crich. The Museum started in the 1950s / 60s when most of the old tram networks in the cities of the UK were being closed down. The Tramway Museum Society was formed in the late 1940s when the decline began and they started to purchase the trams, track etc. The Crich site came to the attention of the society in the late 1950s. Pretty hotel. We had a wonderful stay in room 121. The suite had a beautiful 4 poster and the bathroom a huge roll top bath. We visited the spa and had an excellent breakfast. Lovely stay. Will return.
