Stunning views from our modern guest house of Mt Hood, the Gorge, and Hood River


We chose to share our guest house primarily because the idea of sharing our stunning view appeals to us very much. We are so fortunate to have a view so special that we wanted to build a guest house for our friends and you!

We designed our 600 square foot modern guest house with the intent of creating a very private honeymoon suite.

It sits on concrete sonotubes about 18 feet up off the ground. The goal was to create a treehouse affect that evokes a visceral response as you hover above the trees looking out at the stunning views.

It has expansive views of Hood River, Mt Hood, and our favorite view, looking directly down the gorge.

Our guest house is accessed by a 30 foot long steel bridge.

Our guest house is very private, but is located near our house, so there are some rules that it is very important that are followed.
Guests may only have one vehicle. Guests must park their vehicle on the left side of main house (east side). Maximum of two people at guest house unless owner makes an exception.

If you desire incredible views, modern architecture, and a very quiet location, I think you will really enjoy the experience.

You are welcome to ask about staying for less than our 3 day minimum. Often there is less than three days between guests already booked, so we can send you a special booking request if you email asking for these shorter stays between existing bookings. We are also more receptive to shorter visits mid week, and last minute requests.

Perfect Getaway

Another incredible stay at this property! Was such a perfect personal getaway to relax and recharge. The view is outstanding, and downtown White Salmon has great options for food and tasty beverages! Definitely will be back.

Amazing place!

Don’t hesitate to book here. We spent three nights and it was better than we could have hoped for. The views are even better in person. If you are on the fence, it’s worth it.

This place was everything we were expecting and more. Best view I’ve ever had from a property. White salmon had great restaurants, awesome bakery, and plenty of places to hike and see the outdoors.

Incredible views in a very private location

Beautiful views out of every window, well equipped kitchen and spotlessly clean. Excellent location for exploring the Columbia River Gorge. Tao was very helpful with figuring out the mini split for A/C, very necessary on some sunny, unseasonably hot days and offering restaurant suggestions. There are 36 steps and long walkways, most without a handrail, so pack in small duffle bags or totes-rollaboards have to be carried most of the way.

My partner and I had an absolutely wonderful time staying at this beautiful property. The view is simply stunning. From coffee time to wine time it was wonderful to sit and watch the view change. The furnishings and amenities are also perfect. It’s a quick drive into town, and only a few minutes more for Hood River. The property owners were great at communicating, and check-in and out were a breeze. We cannot recommend this property highly enough.

Amazing Views

Property has a great view of the river and down the gorge. We had sunny weather when we arrived and got to experience some lightning later in the evening. Property was clean and perfect for just the two of us while we explored the Hood River area. Definitely recommend the Bigfoot museum in Boring, OR and the Antique Aeroplane and Car museum. Finished off the trip with a quick hike up Beacon Rock just before the rain came back. Great place to stay if you get the chance.

Ernesto and Marcela’s place was in pristine conditions, their response was always fast and polite, and location couldn’t be better. We will definitely consider coming back to admire the Gorge’s view from their guest house. Our only suggestion is to switch to softer pillows or have an alternative to choose from. Lorena .

The most amazing view

The Penthouse is an accurate description! You are on top of the cliff! 180 degree view, a wall of windows from kitchen/living room & bedroom. Over looking the Columbia River & Hood River. Everything was nicely appointed & comfortable! VERY NICE!

spectacular views, convenient location, many steps

This guest house is a great location for an active couple looking for spectacular views of the gorge and Mt Hood and quick access to food, drinks and local hiking/biking trails. "Downtown" White Salmon has solid eating and drinking options and is a 5 min drive. If you want more options, Hood River is 15 to 20 minutes. You can easily head east for 10 miles and enjoy high desert hiking and biking or 10 miles west for typical west of the Cascades hiking and waterfalls. The guest house is a climb down quite a few concrete steps from parking ... so you should feel comfortable hauling your suitcases/bags down and then up the steps. We are an active, mid 60s couple and it wasn't an issue. We will be back for another visit!

We had a lovely visit. White salmon is spectacular. The view of Mt. Hood from this residence is unbelievable. The guest house is nicely appointed with everything you need. The only thing I would add would be a fan that you could use in the evenings when the sun is setting because it does get warm.

Just as beautiful the 2nd time!

We came up to enjoy the peace and quiet and escape the craziness of the holidays. The view is unforgettable day and night, cloudy or clear. We rented a couple of years ago and were really looking forward to being there again this weekend. It was just as incredible, and just what we needed!

Private location with an awesome view

Location was central to everything I wanted to do. Quick drive to White Salmon and Hood River. Tons of wine tasting, mountain biking and hiking in the area. The property itself had amazing views of the Columbia River Valley with floor to ceiling windows. Very private and very quiet. Modern amenities and decor provided a comfortable stay.
