Great stay!
Just like the pictures! Comfy, cozy and well stocked. Everything you need in the kitchen, except for a dishwasher. Nice towels (lots of extra) and sheets. The upstairs bed was a bit hard for my tastes, downstairs bed was much softer. Beautiful sunsets seen from the upper deck.

Loved "The Guest House" in Foxwells, VA
The house was a delight. From driving up and seeing the well kept lawn and the screened in porch to the lovely inside, the house was beautiful. The interior decorator did a fabulous job on the furnishings and the owner added wonderful little touches such as candles to light, a bowl of colorful marbles, books to read, magazines to thumb through, tennis rackets, etc. For guests who brought a dog, he had a basket of sheets, etc. to put on the furniture and to make a comfortable bed for the dog. The porch had comfortable chairs and a lounge and even had two ceiling fans to keep it cool. The house itself was immaculate and the air conditioning was already set so it was nice and cool when I arrived on a very hot sticky day. I did not go upstairs where, oddly enough, the kitchen was and the second bedroom and bath. I had knee surgery a few months ago and I still don't feel comfortable going up stairs yet. But I didn't intend to cook anyway and brought a cooler which I filled with ice to keep my soft drinks cold. The neighborhood was quiet (except for a darling owl who hooted at night when I was on the porch and again in the morning). It felt like you were by yourself on the property even though there were neighbors to one side and across the street. The house is set back from the road so you feel like you have the area to yourself. I loved it and hope to revisit there again in the future.

Wonderful Long Weekend in White Stone!
My husband, pup Albus, and I trekked to White Stone for a “baby moon” long weekend. We had an easy time getting into the house, and found it convenient for us to both access the Rappahannock with our boat and to explore White Stone, Irvington, and Kilmarnock throughout our stay. Plus, we really enjoyed all of the porches on the property, which provided wonderful reading and meal spots depending on the weather and mosquitoes. We would highly recommend staying here for your river getaway!

My Cavalier and I had a wonderful stay at the cottage.
The property was wonderful. We had a beautiful view of Little Bay from the upper deck. We had morning coffee with a lovely view with a sailboat. The bedrooms are at the back of the property and are very quiet. The home is very comfortable and relaxing. It was the perfect stay for a return to the Northern Neck.

The owner was very responsive! We didn't realize the property was so low and their were storms and high tides the first two days of vacation. We couldn't get out to go anywhere for a day, but we had fun anyway.

Perfect Weekend Getaway
Great little property out in the country. We came down for a wedding at the Tides Inn and were shocked by the room cost. This was much nicer for a fraction of the price! The house is fully stocked with whatever you need, including plenty of cooking supplies and some pantry basics. FYI for anyone with mobility issues, the kitchen is on the second floor. Otherwise, it's a very nice option for a weekend away with plenty of activities to keep you busy. The area is quiet and safe at night. Rooms have A/C units and fans for the summer. For anyone bringing a dog, note that the backyard is not fenced and there is no sidewalk or shoulder to walk along the street. Local traffic drives the road at 45+, so it feels a little dangerous to walk along the road. There are some local parks and small beaches in the general area. While this is out in the country, town is only about 10 minutes away. The nearest grocery store is about 20 minutes away in Kilmarnock. There are a ton of local seafood shops. Most of these places close at 6 PM and their steamers close earlier (like 5:30), so plan ahead!

Wonderful guesthouse
The top story of this guesthouse is a historical building, which was placed on top of a new story in the late 2000's. There's a picture collage of the re-build in the diningroom. Each story has a full queen bedroom with an attached 3/4 bath. The downstairs bedroom suite has a closet with a new stacked washer/dryer. Upstairs bedroom suite has several closets, and a walkout screened porch with an extra bed and furniture. There's also a small couch that becomes a double bed in the large dining area. The kitchen is on the upper story, with a walkout porch as well. Kitchen is fully equipped with toaster, microwave, coffee and tea makers and full size fridge/freezer. There isn't a dishwasher, but plenty of room in double sink and drainers (2) to do by hand; also plenty of dishware/cookware for large groups. When we visited there was a plethora of spices there as well. The dining area/kitchen has a bar and stools, and a very large table that seats 8. The downstairs entry is a large covered porch, leading into a bright living room with couch, chairs, desk, great Roku tv and a large woodstove, which we used on the gale weekend we visited (woodpile outside). There's also a firepit and Adirondack chairs in the large front yard. Plenty of towels and amenities were provided as well. Because of the weather, we didn't venture out very much, other than to pick up donuts at the Chesapeake donut company in White Stone - a couple of miles. This location is rural, just a mile from the end of the Peninsula, with large trees, unfenced huge yard, and right off the road. There is a U shaped drive and plenty of areas to park. It was perfect for a set of grandparents, parents and a toddler. Highly recommended! Don't count on water access or a beach because most of the close pullouts off the road are private. There's a marina a mile away, and about 100 feet of a public area, but I wouldn't term it a beach (4 ft wide, and asphalt like the road ended in the bay.). There are other beaches in the area however.
