Loved It
We had 7 people on this trip and everyone got their own room. Common areas were very comfortable for all of us to gather together. LOVE the logs.
We absolutely loved our week at the Grand Alpine Lodge. The house was perfect for our big family. Plenty of room to spread out and really intentional spaces to come together for meals, games and just relaxing. It was clean and there were plenty of towels, snuggly blankets. We saw deer every morning out the dining room windows and my grandkids thought that was the best!
Customer service from rental property was 5 star. And cabin was beautiful and clean. However, we were there for a week and had nowhere to put our clothes and unable to enjoy the cute little apartment fireplace area because we had to keep our clothes out there. That is a problem easily solved with a dresser- even if it’s in the living room.
The house is lovely and there is plenty of parking. The floor plan is a little difficult to navigate as the master bedroom is a throughway to the back half of the house. We also had some hot water issues with our large group. The Vacay people were responsive to answer our questions.
This house was perfect for a large group. We traveled with 13 people. More than enough space for everyone to be comfortable. Location was great and the house was fully stocked. The only complaint is the lighting in the house. You need a college degree to figure them out. We asked for a late check out and they accommodated us with no issue. Will def stay here again.
We needed a place to stay short notice that could fit our whole family. This house was perfect. It was clean and beautiful. Only down side was, it's Agust and was in the 90s almost our whole stay and we could not get the house to cool down. Theres no central air, which is to be expected with a winter ski home, so it was very warm inside. I recommend bringing more fans and maybe an ac unit if you are staying in the summer.

perfect home for 8 buddies from college class of 1979 enjoying a return trip to Big Mountain
The Grand Alpine Lodge lives up to its name. Best equipped and comfortable house we've had in 30 years of ski trips. Comfortable beds, very well equipped kitchen with all the plates, flatware and glasses needed for our group. Grand living room with fireplace, dining area adjoining kitchen --and dining room had table that seated all eight of us with room to spare. We loved the hot tub. (Did not have a chance to try the jacuzzi tubs inside). Excellent wifi. Only hitch was fancy interior lighting control system. Vacay Whitefish helped us get over that hump and answered several questions about it very promptly. First class service from the property manager. Highly recommended.
Impressive as an architectural log marvel, the lodge immersed us in the context of the mountains and forest. The variety of sitting areas, including several balconies, allowed for side-bar meet-ups along with easily gathering 16 or 17 people in a circle. The flat outdoor space near the amazing and generous garages also facilitated a fine group exercise. We also appreciated the ability to grill and cook whatever we needed. While the main-level layout of the house was complex (master bedroom and master bath), it was workable. All the systems worked well (pleasant lighting, comfortable HVAC, appliances) -- and the main kitchen was well equipped -- and even supplemented by another kitchen in the separate-yet-connected two level apartment section of the lodge (which was a huge plus).
House is absolutely beautiful, but there are a few quirks. The layout is a bit different. To access the “apartment” section of the house, you must travel through the master bedroom and bathroom. The master bathroom is also shared with a bunk room. Additionally, the light switches are no joke. Very confusing but manageable. House was a bit warm, but very clean and neat. We had a great time aside from getting used to the layout and switches.
Not exactly a deal breaker, but for the price I’d expect properly functioning windows. Another note, both speakers in the house quit working. Not sure if it’s a voltage issue in the house.
Overall, it was a fantastic stay and would book again.

Beautiful large house with a weird floor plan.
This was a great gathering place for our large family but the floor plan was awkward and inconvenient, requiring people to go through a bathroom or outside to a separate outside door to reach all of the areas of the house. The house has comfortable and practical furnishings. TVs were included in most of the rooms and the dining table was large. There were also added amenities such as body wash and shampoo in all of the bathrooms and spices in the kitchen. Kitchen was smaller than hoped for when preparing food for a large group and the house could really use more showers for the number of rooms. We also experienced windows that wouldn’t open, no central AC, wasps in the house and a mouse in the bathroom off of the second kitchen. The railing on the porch over the garage needs to be fixed (although there was caution tape) and the bushes need to be pruned as they were growing in the outside stairwell. That same stairwell needs lighting as it was unsafe in the dark. The light switches inside were confusing even with the QR code tutorial. The hot tub temperature can’t be adjusted and was too hot and the fabric cover was worn and should be replaced. Overall it was a good experience but for the price it wasn’t what we expected.
We travel once a year every year with a group of about 14 of us for a three day ski trip. This property ranks among the best that we have visited. Thanks for everything!
