Stroudwater canal near Fromebridge This unnavigable stretch of the Stroudwater canal to the west of the A38 is badly overgrown. The WW2 pillbox on the left (a prefabricated 'thick-walled' type 24) was part of "Stop Line Green" and used the canal as a natural anti-tank ditch. When completed in 1940 the pillbox overlooked a working wharf.
Saul Junction Marina The entrance the recently built (not shown on the version of the OS Maps at the time the picture was taken) Saul Junction Marina from the Stroudwater Canal. This is a massive development with 284 berths and all mod cons.

Pipeline crossing the Stroudwater Canal, near to Whitminster, Gloucestershire, Great Britain. The start point, end point and contents of this pipe crossing the disused Stroudwater Canal are officially a mystery! Quite what will happen to it if and when this part of the canal is restored is also uncertain. It's also a bit of a mystery which grid square the pipe crossing is in, but I've plumped for this one.

Westfield Bridge An occupation bridge over an infilled section of the Stroudwater Canal. Just in front of the bridge you can see the remains of the Westfield Lock which was blown up during the building of the nearby M5. The keystone reads 1841.
