A little African Gem

Tim the manager is very welcoming & a great host. He works very hard to ensure the comfort of guests & to help them plan each day so they enjoy their stay at Wilderness to the maximum. Maureen the owner speaks to individual guests each morning at breakfast & is very supportive. She has given great thought to the decoration of each room. Ours had a strong African theme & we loved it. Special touches everywhere we looked in our room. Bathroom really well proportioned & had beautiful soaps etc

There was a real personal touch when we stayed at the Moontide Guest Lodge, by all staff. Breakfasts were particularly good. It is a great place for a break from busy life.

Um hotel pra ficar!

Esse hotel é um sonho!! Que delícia sentar nas mesas e espreguiçadeiras do jardim de frente para o rio ou pegar um dos caiaques disponíveis e curtir o sol. O quarto também, além de confortável, era de extremo bom gosto. Decoração cuidadosa e caprichada A equipe é fantástica: a dona, Maureen, o Judge, que esteve conosco na maior parte do tempo .. todos muito muito gentis e profissionais, genuinamente interessados no bem-estar dos hóspedes. Adoramos tudo e ficamos loucos de vontade de voltar!

Best "boat house room" EVER!!!!

Our overnight stay was THE BEST in so many ways. The warm, helpful greeting was very heart warming and the location, comfort and tastefully decorated room was very very special. The attention to detail on the delicious and plentiful breakfast was admirable. I can recommend this accommodation to everyone.

South African road trip.

Moontide Guesthouse is in a beautiful setting overlooking the lagoon with individually designed rooms. Our room was beautifully appointed with a comfortable bed and everything we needed. The staff were friendly and welcoming and were able to offer suggestions for dinner. The breakfast was delicious and there were a range of options. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Our only regret regarding the Moontide Lodge is that we only stayed one night! Our room, the “Milkwood” was clean, comfortable, well-appointed, and perfect for our family of four. It was decorated with all sorts of interesting curios which gave it a homey feel. Our children loved the loft and the thatched roof. We used one of the canoes to go for a little row across the lagoon. Breakfast was delicious, service was great, and Janet at reception was most kind and helpful. We would definitely go back should we visit Wilderness again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Nah am Traumstrand, Sauberkeit verbesserungswürdig

Wilderness ist ein toller Ort mit netten Restaurants, die fußläufig gut erreichbar sind, der Strand ist von der Moontide Lodge nur fünf Minuten entfernt, wundervoll, besser geht nicht! Perfekt für alle, die Strandwanderungen lieben oder am Strand mal chillen möchten. Das Frühstück ist ausgezeichnet, man sitzt superschön auf der Terasse mit Blick auf die Lagune. Was uns gestört hat, war der modrige feuchte Geruch im Zimmer und auch die Sauberkeit müsste deutlich verbessert werden. Ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen fanden wir die Lodge schon. Der Service war ansonsten sehr gut, alle sind sehr bemüht um das Wohl ihrer Gäste.

A beautiful place to relax and be rejuvenated.

During wintertime recently we have had the opportunity to spent 4 nights at this beautiful and romantic lodge. We celebrated our 11th anniversary including a champagne breakfast on the terrace overlooking the shimmering Wilderness lagoon. Tim and his staff really life up to their pledge and have done everything to ensure the experience of this outstanding place. From the generous cooked breakfasts to the excellent recommendations of lunch and dinner throughout the area. Thank you very much, it was a privilege to meet you all. Impressive! Didn't want to leave

We only stopped by for a night on our road trip from Cape Town to PE. It's truly a hidden gem. We stayed in Milkwood cottage, which was absolutely beautiful and comfortable. Tim welcomed us and showed us around, making sure we had everything we needed. Breakfast by the river was superb and they also have boats that you can take out for a little row in the river. We really wish we could stay there longer.

Das Guest House ist sehr schön gelegen. Die Zimmer sind großzügig und schön eingerichtet. Es fehlt aber an Sauberkeit in allen Bereichen. Hier könnte man mit etwas mehr Aufwand viel mehr erreichen. Einige Gegenstände, z. B. Glastische im Aussenbereich waren gesprungen, und gehören ausgetauscht. Für 1 Nacht ok, aber länger würden wir hier nicht bleiben wollen. Da haben wir in Südafrika schön deullich bessere Guest Houses mit 4 Sternen gehabt.

Gorgeous place with great service

Moontide was amazing. I wanted to move in and stay for months! The "rooms" are huge and all different with little nooks and crannies filled with treasures and comforts. We had stone cottage that, while quirky, was fun and very comfortable. Service was amazing from everyone and the breakfast on the patio overlooking the river was delicious and so peaceful. My kids loved swimming in the river and taking a canoe out. Manager Tim booked the best restaurants for us each evening and was always available for questions. This is the best place we have stayed in South Africa or anywhere for a long time.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. Staff was amazing. We had to leave early morning and they graciously provided breakfast prior to normal serving time. Maureen is a charming hostess and Tim a very helpful manager in terms of suggesting restaurants and things to do. Each suite is different and beautifully decorated. Couldn't ask for a better place to stay.
