This was our 8th time at the Shalimar. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and met all our needs. The pool was well maintained and parking was always available. They have a small arcade, five hole golf, cornhole and a ping pong table. Learned today they have a fitness room! There's something for everyone. We're going back in a few weeks! Highly recommend.

This place was awesome!!! Very clean room, two pools, coffee, small game room… Staff was amazing .. I’d like to mention two of their amazing staff housekeepers.. Keroy and Sandra .. it was a mom and her son who came and cleaned up my room one of the days I was staying … I was getting ready for work when they were getting ready to clean up my room, they asked if I wanted them to come back, but I said I didn’t mind if they wanted to come now and I invited them in and told them they could tidy up the room if they wanted .. asked if they would mind gathering up the towels and if they wouldn’t mind sweeping up the floor… the young man was very friendly and very sociable, and I got the chat with him. He not only swept the floor once but twice because of all the beach sand me and my other friends had brought in to the room and he also like gave it a quick mop, and gave us extra towels for the room.

Good property to stay for a couple of nights. Lot's of parking available; only a couple of blocks from the beach. Pool was not open yet (too cold) and they have a small 4-5 hole mini golf course in front of the office. Small view of the ocean from the balcony. Room was adequate, but could use some updating.

The property is fine, though very dated. The problem was that the staff quits work at 5 PM, so if you arrive later than that there is no one to give you a key or get you on the internet. Luckily we arrived at 3 and got to talk to a staff member, but if we had arrived much later--as we originally planned--we would have been out of luck. Also, we found that almost all the restaurants were closed in early october. We spent an hour looking for somewhere to eat. I am sure it is different in summer, but beware in the fall!

We enjoyed our five night stay. Room was clean and comfortable, though could use some upgrades. The room with the kitchenette has a tiny bathroom - so small that when you open the door, it hits the toilet. If you have small children, be advised that there is no extra latch from the inside. Also, the pool fence does latch but when people come and go, they often leave it unlatched. Just something to be aware of if you have a toddler. All in all, the stay was good and staff was kind and courteous.
