Kingsmill Resort

Kingsmill Resort

8/10 Good
"Very nice resort with friendly staff in most areas. Wonderful pool area at the spa Room was comfortable but found a little mold in the bottom plastic part of the shower doors and some corners. Bathroom floors were not very clean and the carpet could use a deep steam clean. Nice lazy river but of course, it got too crowded labor day weekend. The Mill had very good food and drinks and sweet staff- great $2 ice cream deal . Kitchen in the room was nicely stocked. The food at the seafood restaurant was sub par and poor value for the money. Much better food off the resort. Was there for my child's PGA junior league regionals and it was alot of fun."

"Individuals at front desk were extremely friendly and professional. Our room was huge (room 201 - suite w/3 beds + 2 bathrooms), clean, and perfect for our family of 5. Blackout blinds were greater and very much appreciated. The free breakfast was okay - nice to have a convenient free option available, but not particularly good (just meh) . But lots of other options nearby so not a big dealz"

"Housekeeping was outstanding. Our check-in could have been better. We had a 4 day res, but had to check in a day later. I notified them, and spoke with Precious, who was very nice, and said she would notify it on my reservation, and we would be fine. I called the day of our arrival, and spoke with Bob, who also was very nice, to make sure we were good to go, and also to tell him we would be very late, because we were caught in a huge thunderstorm. We did not arrive until after 2:30am, but someone was there to check us in, after their smoke break. I have worked in the hotel business for 20+ years, worked all shifts, and tried to make sure guests were always greeted properly. I explained that our reservation was for the day before, and our keys may already be made. I received sort of a laugh, and was told, "That's not how we do it around here, honey. I would be the one checking you in." Fine. I had my ID out, and a CC for incidentals, Usually, using Expedia, it is under my name, but apparently, it was under my wife's name. I was told my ID was no good, need tbe person who made the reservation. I went out, got my wife, and finally got checked in. I don't get offended or irritated like a lot of snow flakes, because I know what it is like on the other side of the coin. Maybe it was the long 7 hr drive, and getting in late, but I did expect a better greeting. Everyone else was outstanding, and housekeeping did a fantastic job."
