Location was great with beautiful view from the room. Close to restaurants, shopping and pubs. Ambiance sort of shabby Victorian.
No help in luggage up and down 3 flights of stairs - no lift in our wing. Never shown around the property or spa. No a/c. Heat and towel warmer off for entire hotel. WiFi spotty. Shower water pressure low. Breakfast was ok, dinner was ok.
3 star hotel and service with 5 star prices. Target clientele appeared to be tour groups.
Everything was amazing. Great location and lovely staff. The view from breakfast and the terrace bar was great.
2 things to improve that really hot under my skin.... Breakfast wasn't great. And the hotel bar is extremely overpriced. We paid 10£ for 2 cups of tea (tea bag tea!!!) and alcohol and soft drinks also way over priced. If you book, just make a brew in your room and bring it down, it's the same tea!
Such a beautiful hotel , staff were very friendly and the breakfast overlooking the lake was stunning

Excellent central location.
The staff were helpful especially in reception and spa.
The dining staff were efficient but less cheerful than one might expect in an establishment like this.
Breakfast was plentiful but uninspiring.
Luggage drop off was difficult due to heavy vehicles blocking the hotel entrance.
The plumbing made a loud vibrating noise for 10 minutes after each toilet flush.
The shower had excellent pressure and hot water.
The room mini fridge had the internal light hanging down and the fridge didn’t appear to work.
The hotel has old world charm and despite the small foibles mentioned above is a good accommodation option.
The hotel was very tired and run down. There wasn’t a phone in the room, so we couldn’t call for ice or a new bath robe (as the one we had was dirty from a previous guest). The room was too hot and there wasn’t any air con. There was mould in the bathroom. The towels were supposed to be white but more greyish. The bar area was very pleasant, so was the swimming pool. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel really needs some TLC with the fixtures and fittings, as well as towels / dressing gowns. I wouldn’t class it as 4 star.
A great hotel in a fantastic location. Our room had a lake view. The spa was also very nice. The hotel is in walking distance to everything you need, including parking.
This hotel is at the prime location. We could reach any place from the hotel without car.
Though the proprty is old style, however, the room was spacious with all the facilities.
Staff was quite friendly and helpful.
Would definitely like to stay here for my next visit

Hotel showing its age but lake view rooms very nice. Clean and tidy but older part of the hotel could do with full refurbish. Breakfast lovely and evening meal reasonable. Drinks very expensive.
Every aspect was great. Just a small trouble with unloading luggage as there is not much space to park if the spot is already taken. Also, from the hotel welcome message it feels like they will help unload luggage but you do that on your own. They have good amenities but not so easy to find information about it, like access to private beach or availability in Spa. Overall, I enjoyed the stay a lot and loved the swimming area and steam/sauna experience.

Everything about this say was perfect. The staff were lovely, the room was beautifull with the view over the lake and was very clean and tidy. The food was delicious. We will be stopping again when we are in your direction
Lovely stay. Great room, very nice breakfast and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. The christmas decorations made the whole stay feel very festive. The kids loved everything about it. The spa swimming pool was a little on the cold side but ok.
