Cute little place near lake

Cute little place. A busy restaurant is attached and parking is pretty tight. You have to wait until the parking lot opens up at the end of the night to move your car into it. Otherwise some street parking available. We were on the third floor so had to hit the maze of stairs to get to the top but it wasn't too bad. Sits right in town which is really cute. Eateries are open pretty late if you look around.

Can not fault this hotel rooms very comfortable bathroom and all amenities in the room very good apart from the light shade didn’t let much light out but overall really good perfect location for bars and restaurants near by , breakfast was amazing 10/10 hope to return soon

Such a lovely place to rest our head for the evening. Walking distance to the train station where we met our tour guide for the tour of Hilltop (Beatrix Potter’s house). The breakfast was absolutely delish! Staff was so friendly! Our room was spacious and so very clean. Also, our bed was quite comfortable. My daughter and I loved this place.

Parking right outside the front door. Room was adequate, clean with tea coffee amenties. Breakfast was one of the best i have had - cooked fresh to order. Staff polite and helpful.

The staff were really friendly during our stay, the breakfast was fantastic and service was great. We were so disappointed to discover on the last day that there was another side to the breakfast menu which we hadn't turned over! We will have to return and sample the breakfast pancakes! :) Thanks for a great, comfortable and friendly stay.

Refined Hotel High Quality Food and Service

The staff service at the Lamplighter is superb from reception to restaurant service. The hotel is far from the usual style with a beautiful building in a great location at the top end of Windemere's high street. We dined at the hotel and the food was lovely, well priced and the staff very attentive. Breakfast was superb with lots of choice and the quality equal to the best we have had on our 4 week holiday so far.

Exceeded expectations

We had a great stay over a weekend here as a family. 2 adults a 2 year old and our dog (he's big). We had king bed, the room was clean, comfy and nice bathroom, just what we needed. We chose to eat in the restaurant one night the food was great and the breakfast which was included was amazing, so many options. They were lovely hosts and great family friendly stay and really dog friendly. We would definitely stay again.

The restaurant is excellent with great food and a relaxing atmosphere. Breakfast was equally good. Room was spotless with plenty of hot water and strong shower. All the usual extras with tea and a coffee machine and a couple of decent chairs to sit in. Bed equally comfortable. A pleasant place to stay and relax. Recommend a trip to Holehird Gardens which is just up the road 🙂

A good place to stay

Very pleasant couple of days at the hotel. The room was warm and very clean. The food for the first night meal was excellent. We had the rump of lamb which was tender, pink and delicious although, personally I would have appreciated some green vegetables with it rather than mashed potato and mashed swede, which were too similar in taste and texture. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice. All in all a good place to say.
