The property is large enough for a couple of hammocks, a badminton/volley ball net, a swing set as well chairs by the river. It was quiet and you could hear the birds, see deer, and the stars were nice and bright due to a low level of light. The property is close to town, and the cabin we stayed in was very nice.

Wonderful quiet clean place to stay while in Winthrop. It is located on the river where we saw deer grazing. Penny, the owner, was very nice and accommodating. Highly recommend.

The only thing that was a minor issue was the ac unit was quite loud. It made it a bit difficult to get a good nights sleep. The owners were very nice and accommodating. We would not hesitate to stay there again.

Looks like a 'trash fire' was burning on the property. The furniture was not comfortable--the place is 'getting old'. A tip envelope for maid service was in the room: but maids did not clean the room after the first night, so that seemed odd.

Unbearable NOISEY!! If you stay on the first floor (below another guest) you’ll be very unhappy. I was able to hear a man urinate, cough, argue, watch t.v., talk, move furniture until 3:00 a.m. when they turned on the shower it rang a loud squeal for a long time. Insult to injury was not being believed by Penny, the owner, who said she’d look into it in the morning and didn’t get back to me. I had to follow up in the afternoon and she was dismissive. I should’ve read the other reviews about how horrible the customer service is. I’m so disappointed.

We'd been on the fence about a last minute trip to Winthrop for days and decided that day to go. River Run was the only place available that would take dogs. We've been to Winthrop many times but not at the establishment. We were pleasantly surprised by our accommodations. Beautiful area around the hotel. There are cabins but at our late arrival they were all taken. The river and grounds are beautiful. Super quiet. You can walk to town if you like. Great Cider House just down the street. Had one of the best salads and margarita's I've ever had. Owner/property manager was very sweet. We ended up having to leave a day early for a family matter back home and she was concerned as to our reason why. It had nothing to do with the hotel itself. Truly enjoyed our stay.

Highly Recommend

We were in town for a Thanksgiving weekend youth hockey tournament and we couldn’t have picked a better home base than the River Run Inn. Penny and her sidekick Coffee were delightful and made us feel at home from the moment we checked in. The location was perfect… Just a few steps removed from the more crowded downtown lodges with a wide lawn leading right to the river…which was somehow even more charming in the cold and snow. The town of Winthrop also charmed us well beyond our expectations. We will be back!

Penny and Mike were wonderful hosts! We absolutely loved the area, easy access to the beautiful Methow River. We stayed in cabin A which was perfect for 4 people. 2 adults and 2 kids. The mountains surrounding the valley were amazing. If you need a place to stay this is the place. 2 minutes from down town and all the shops.

Went for a hockey tournament in early December. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean. It was 27 degrees outside but inside was warm and comfortable with extra blankets. Parking was no hassle.

We’ve stayed here before and we love the location (near the river, near the town of Winthrop). It’s also very nice that they accommodate dogs. The cabin lay out is nice and the bed is comfortable. Internet worked great. The amenities were lacking - no pool, or hot tub and no commensurate reduction in price. The furniture is tired and kitchen supplies are minimal. For the price I’m not sure we will stay here again.

This is our second time staying at River Run and it was a great base for visiting family and friends in the Methow Valley. Our family of four stayed in one of the cabins and having a refrigerator, stove top, dishwasher, sink and microwave was important to us. Our toddler loved the hammocks and swings on the property and playing in the grass area in front of our cabin. The AC worked well and helped us stay cool when the the temps were in high 90s. It is a short walk from Winthrop and we saw several deer, making it a nice combo of feeling quiet and out of the busy area but easily accessible to places to eat, ice cream and shops. The only disappointment was that when we booked there was a notice on Expedia that the pool was being renovated but expected to be complete in spring of 2023. We visited in July and it was unavailable to guests. I wish this information would have been updated and/or communicated.

What a beautiful location. Deer were just hanging out around the property. You can sit out on your deck and listen to the river. Cozy cabins! Perfect for any occasion. My occasion was meeting my former beau for the first time in 10 years! And it's dog friendly!!
