"The Motel Ely was a fine place to stay. It’s very basic but has what you need. They allowed us to bring our bicycles into the room which was nice. We had to run the water for about five minutes before the hot water arrived."

"There were many things we loved about the property. It's quiet, secluded, and the fishing once we found our "place" was great for smallmouth bass. The weather the week we were there was excellent as well which helped a lot. Jeff was kind and courteous and helpful and let us use his personal childhood canoe so we didn't have to lug ours along with us from Iowa. As far as the cabin, it is unique. We found it to be a bit too crowded and some of the wildflower bouquets had a bit of a scent to them and were too large for the small cabin space. There are many antiques and artifacts so I did feel a bit like I was in a museum and that almost museum like smell might bother sensitive folks. I'm fairly sensitive, but I managed to do okay. I prefer natural smells to the plug in chemicals any day and there were no artificial plug ins. On the last day a visitor joined us in the form of a rather plump little mouse which creeps most people out and did me as well but what are you going to do? Set mouse traps perhaps? Mice like to do that in fall--come in and get out of the cold. I notice a bit of some kind of bleachy cleaner smell when we were checking in as he was finishing up the kitchen cleaning. I did find the stock of pans and dishes to be very adequate. I prefer cast iron and stainless steel to teflon/nonstick, and those we had for our fish fry. Yay! All that to say, we would consider a repeat trip as we enjoyed the quiet of the lake and the fishing was fun and plentiful!!"

"We had a really nice one-night stay. Our lake view room was worth it because that was quite a view. Even though the hotel seemed full, it was exceptionally quiet. All the staff were way above average in friendliness. I wouldn't change a thing."

"Let's get the obvious out of the way first. Yes we booked a cabin on main street and you do get a bit of road noise but its not bad. Ely goes to bed early. Now for all else. The cabin was super clean. The check in process was flawless. The unit is private with parking 3 feet from your door! Makes loading and unloading ridiculously easy. The unit, if compared to a motel room ( which we were considering) no heel walkers above you or loud rooms next to you! The cabin has ample room, and is stocked with towels that feel like drying off with a cloud, paper towels, cleaners, trash, nice smart tv, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap. Beds were comfy. AC and Heat. Proximity to everything Was great. Walked to basically everything. Made our own coffee in the morning and there is also a water hot pot. They supplied a bag of nice coffee and filters. Liquor store super close, also a drive thru coffee shop across the street. Nice laminated welcome packet and a "what to do in Ely" guide provided. ZERO regrets about having booked this cabin!"

"We loved this property! We stayed at this property with 6 adults and 8 kids. There was plenty of room for all of us all week. We loved the outdoor area with canoes, kayaks and a paddle board. The kids loved the beach area and the grassy yard to play in. It was minutes from town and we even walked to town once on the Trezona. We will be back!!"
