Welcome to your home away from home — a beautifully restored ground floor flat just 5 minutes' walk from Witney town centre, and a perfect gateway to the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the city of Oxford.
This property was built by my great grandfather and is now lovingly managed by the 4th generation of our family. Witney Hideaway has been professionally decorated to a high standard, combining the charm of original antiques and period features with every modern convenience.
The Space
Guests have their own private entrance through the blue door, with a secure lockbox for seamless self check-in.
The former dining room — complete with its original decorative fireplace — is now a warm and elegant bedroom with a double bed, antique mirrors, wardrobe, dresser, luggage racks, bedside lights and USB ports on both sides.
The modern kitchen is fitted with quartz countertops, a double farmhouse sink, designer tap, hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer. A selection of basic dry ingredients and spices is provided for guests to use. There is also a washing machine, dryer, iron, ironing board and outdoor washing line for longer stays.
The living and dining area features a wall-mounted smart TV, two antique desks ideal for working, a sofa which converts into a double bed, a dining table and plenty of storage. Near the entrance you'll find a coat hook and a large ottoman — perfect for shoes, umbrellas and bags.
The bathroom has a walk-in shower, heated towel rail, waterfall tap and is fully stocked with towels, hair dryer, hand soap, toilet paper and basic personal items.
Throughout the flat you'll find high-speed WiFi, USB ports, an HDMI and ethernet cable, a first aid kit, sewing kit, family games, books and a selection of practical extras including an insulated picnic bag.
Step outside to your own private patio in the back garden — complete with table, chairs and a sun umbrella — a lovely spot to relax or enjoy a meal in the sunshine. The back garden is shared with the main house so please be respectful of shared spaces.
Guest Access
The entire Witney Hideaway is yours during your stay. The flat is attached to the main house, so we kindly ask guests to observe quiet hours between 10pm and 8am.
The Leys park is just a short walk away — a great open space for children to run around and play.
If you are bringing infants, please let us know ahead of arrival if you need a travel cot or high chair — we are happy to arrange these.
Parking
There is space for one small car on our private drive directly in front of the flat. If arriving from Corn Street, it's often easier to drive past the property and turn around at the next intersection before pulling in. Free street parking is available on Saxon Way — the first street on the right past the Witney Hideaway — approximately 50 metres from the front door.
The Location
Witney Hideaway sits in the historic Crofts area of Witney, within easy walking distance of the town's shops, restaurants and pubs. It is an ideal base for exploring:
The Cotswolds AONB — some of England's most beautiful countryside on your doorstep
Blenheim Palace — a World Heritage Site and birthplace of Winston Churchill, just 8 miles away
Oxford — one of the world's great cities, 14 miles away
