We had a wonderful stay at this cute Vermont Inn. There was a variety of foods offered at breakfast, and we all thought it was delicious. We ate in the restaurant for dinner and thought it was tasty and fresh. The staff is very helpful and courteous. I would have given solid 5 stars, but the towels are a tad scratchy and the room carpet has a wet dog odor...but the rooms are very clean and nice.

We have stayed here on multiple occasions, and overall we would recommend the INN ON THE RIVER to anyone wishing to explore and experience the Woodstock/Queche Vermont area. The atmosphere and decor of the inn is topnotch. There is some maintenance/upkeep work to be done on the inn's exterior wooden structures, especially at the back of the inn facing the river (re:sanding and re-staining). Also, the breakfast is lacking a fresh fruit mix assortment (melons, berries grapes, etc). Otherwise, the breakfast is quite good and well-prepared.

Just a great property all around. For going a few minutes down the road from downtown you get a very well appointed, updated hotel. Breakfast was excellent, pool and Sauna are is nicely updated. Amazingly kid friendly, will be back soon!
