"We have just had a fabulous 10 days at Oceanis and completely fallen in love with Eastern Crete. The property is a calm oasis and so beautifully maintained. "Lovely welcome, polite staff. We had a room upgrade to a sea view which was nice. Breakfast was plentiful but as it was end of season the bread rolls and croissants were very dry. The fruit had swarms of fruit flies so we decided not to bother, but there were other options. The pool area looked nice and clean with lots of seating options. It was very quiet, possibly we were there on their last open weekend, not sure. Sound proofing wasn’t good In the bedroom, we could hear a man talking loudly either in the next room or in the corridor around midnight. I’m sure that in the height of the season it is a very different experience. Having said that the beds were comfortable and there was plenty of hot water. We don’t think it merits the 5* rating. "

"Nice little apartments just a short stroll from the main hub of Makry Gialos. Very clean, spacious, excellent air conditioning and a beautiful lady (Despina I think?) who looked after us and gave us some wonderful home grown organic produce (grapes, apples, pomegranate). Not to mention the raki & delicious cake! We had a really lovely couple if days here ❤️"
