Nothing special, good stay.

Solid stay, nothing special. Bed was comfy and room was quiet. AC was good. Parking felt safe, which is important for Yakima. The room was not very clean, there was literally an old Q-tip on the floor when we arrived. Fitness area was abysmal; just a bike, treadmill, and elliptical in this tiny room. Breakfast was a hit. Very good hot breakfast with eggs, hash browns, sticky buns, and decent coffee among the typical cold options.

The area was skeptical and seemed unsafe. The walls are paper thin. We could here everything our neighbors were doing. We chose this hotel since it’s pet friendly and the price was decent, you get what you pay for. I wouldn’t stay at this hotel in the future, I’d pay extra for somewhere else.

A perfect secret

I was pleasantly surprised with the price so low I was worried it would be not very nice. It was so much fun, the hotel staff was amazing and the pool was great. It is a new secret getaway for my family. After a fun in sun we talked to many guests who have been coming for years…. We will be one of those families now… highly recommend

Left a lot to be desired

The Gateway Hotel left a lot to be desired. While I was appreciative that they let me check in about 30 minutes early, the facility and room were a bit rundown, more than you might expect. The hallways needed vacuuming and the room itself had some issues. The fridge would make a strange sound when the motor turned off, sounding a lot like someone knocking on the door, which gave me a good fright several times in the middle of the night. Also, someone left the alarm clock turned on so I had an unpleasant wake up at midnight--not good when I had a hard time falling asleep anyway. (It would be great if housekeeping staff could check alarms when cleaning a room!) It also would have been nice if the air conditioning unit had a "fan on" option for consistent white noise (all hotels should have this option!) I also booked this hotel in hopes of being able to spend some quality time at the pool, but apparently so did everyone else staying there, so the pool was horribly overcrowded. I was amazed to count only 8 lounge chairs at the pool, too. Why so few? I'm not sure how the Gateway compares to the other hotels in the area, but if I need to stay in Yakima in the future, I'll probably try my luck with another hotel. All in all, not the worst place in the world, but could be so much better with a few small changes and improvements.

The bathroom smelt a little like pee. The building was older but kept up very well. The hot breakfast was good. The pool was sparkling blue:) the hot tub was cold but we still Sat in it.The building felt safe. The staff where super friendly and welcoming. The beds where comfortable and the pillows where perfect fluff. The ice machines where a must in such hot weather and they worked great. There was a good Variety of of vending machines with reasonable prices. The fringe in our room was great and the air conditioner worked wonderful:) I bought my kiddos and we had a blast. Super family Friendly. The price was reasonable and town was very close with serval stores and tons of food places. We will go back again!
