"I don't think hotels.com distinguishes between rooms with or without a balcony. I reserved a Standard Room and fortunately, I was assigned one of these rooms. The balcony is wonderful, providing a 180-degree view of the town and surrounding hills. Room and facility features and services were as advertised and as expected, consistent with the other HI hostels where I have stayed. "We had a wonderful, two day stay here. The staff were welcoming, warm, professional and caring. The entire facility is well maintained and super clean. Breakfast was wonderful - a nice assortment of choices including fresh, cooked to order eggs, a barista for fresh coffee and more. Additionally, the staff was very helpful and when I needed to bring breakfast back to the room for someone who was not feeling well - they gave me containers to bring back whatever I wanted. Only two comments - first of all the laundry detergent is very aromatic and the frarances were over-powering and somewhat disturbing. Also, the chairs in the room were okay, but not very comfortable for sitting for a long stretch of time. I would highly recommend Merom Golan - there is loads of space for kids to run around, the hotel is spaced over a large area so that it remains quiet. It's a great place to stay when touring the Golan and the Galilee. We will definitely go back again."
