"We have stayed at the Sun Rise a couple of times previously which was a good experience. This visit was different. I think there are new owners. I don’t think they were ready to open but they did. There were other visitors there as well. We stayed 2 nights and out rooms was not tidied up during our stay. No fresh towel, no refills on the coffee, cups, soap, etc. the trash was not emptied. We plan to search for another location on our next visit."

"The staff wasn’t super friendly, we waited for around 30 minutes waiting for someone to help us check in. One person saw us waiting and just walked away. Very uncomfortable first start. The room had about 3 outlets and the only one nearby was behind the nightstand. The lighting in the room consisted of 3 lamps, one of the lamps bulb was blown. The sink and shower were both clogged, the shower had a clump of hair in the tub. The carpet had hair all through it. I dropped my ring and it was covered in random hair. The towel rails were also broken. As someone who does their hair and makeup and likes to look in a full body mirror before going out, there wasnt a full sized mirror. The hot tub sadly wasn’t open which was my mistake because I didn’t read when it would be open. We were very close to the beach but didn’t have a beach view. The curtains also didn’t fully cover the windows, there were blinds under them but it didn’t feel very private. The tv for entertainment was also very small which isn’t a big deal but overall, my experience from this was one of the worst I’ve had, especially for around 150 a night. We did want to just spend the one night due to everything and not stay for the 2nd night but there would have been no refunds for the 2nd night. They said “they would get ahold of me” after they contacted the manager, in which they never did. I would not recommend this place. I definitely could have spent what I did somewhere else that would have been more clean."

"What a fantastic place to stay for our girls long-weekend trip! Phyllis was a great host, easy to contact, and provided a lot of good details in advance (like a very close, alternate place to park if the 2-car single-line driveway parking was a little too tight -- you need to back out onto Nubble Road.)The cottage was clean and we loved the space! It's about 50 feet from Fox's Lobster House (fantastic lobster!!) and easy walking distance past Fox's to watch sunrises or sunsets at Nubble Lighthouse.My only concern was the loft area as the third BR. Getting up there meant climbing a high narrow ladder -- hard for us 60 year old's to navigate, so one of us slept on the daybed in the LR instead. Either way, would love to stay here again -- what a treat for a great location and great host! Thanks Phyllis!"

"Wonderful view of ocean with Nubble Light House in the distance which made for an amazing sunrise from the second floor. Room clean, bright and comfortable not much room for moving around. Bathroom clean with bare necessities, needs shelving for personal products, glad I had a hanging bathroom organizer. Heater worked very well. Nice location for walking full length of beach. Unfortunately pool under maintenance, very disappointing not to know this ahead of time. Complimentary coffee only. Check bathroom supplies and ask for what you might need right away as desk not always staffed. I guess I’d stay again but also would be open to looking elsewhere."
