We had a lovely 3 night stay here.

We had a lovely 3 night stay here. You are in the centre of Helmsley so easy access to evrything. The house is nice and big with everything you need. There is no internet bit this is not a problem. Would definitely come back again.

House in superb little town with lots to do,great local shops and plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. The large garden with established trees,lawns and shrubs was perfect for us and ideal for our dog. Everything worked in the house which was a good size ,not overly fussy or ultra modern ,so we didn't have to worry about our dog damaging anything .Superb grandfather clock in the dining room(liked the serving hatch between kitchen and dining room) and open fire was very efficient.Would definitely visit again

This is a lovely house set back behind the main street.

This is a lovely house set back behind the main street. It was nice and clean and was equipped with everything needed for a weeks stay. The garden is very large and dog friendly. It is very safe for dogs and escape proof. Our cairn terrier never managed to get out.The town is only a few yards away, with lovely restaurants and pubs. I would recommend this house, and I hope to visit again at some point in the future.

Colville house is in a perfect location, you are 5 minutes from the shops, bars and restaurants, it is very convenient to leave your car in the drive. The gardens are huge and very peaceful and pretty with a good variety of flowers and trees. My husband, myself and our large dog have enjoyed 3 holidays here now and will definitely return. If you bring your dog just be aware that some of the boundary fence really needs replacing, our huge dog went missing and we could see him stood in the neighbours lawn so he managed to squeeze through a small hole in the bushes, hubby used a spare cupboard door from the shed to block the hole and we had no other problems whatsoever. I really recommend this property to people that like to enjoy Helmsley without having to do any driving, children, dogs and garden lovers will have a fantastic time. We will return, we have stayed here twice this year already.

We loved Colville House, it has character and is beautifully situated. It has spacious and lovely gardens and Jean was very welcoming. We appreciated the small touches such as dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and loo paper for our stay as well as milk in the fridge and tea bags and biscuits on our arrival. It doesn’t have modern decor but for us we liked that as it is a real family home, and for us the high ceilings, bay windows and space made it a real favourite and we are already hoping for a second visit next year sometime. Many thanks!

Excellent location with everything within walking distance, great gardens and a really lovely house. We had another fantastic week here in Helmsley and will definitely return. We had a peaceful stay and the bed was very comfortable with good quality bedding and the towels were soft and thick. Attention is needed for the boundary wooden fence and the gate is rickety, the house could do with a makeover in certain areas but we feel it is still good value for money considering the size and location of this property. I would just like to remind guests to inspect the boundary fully prior to letting their dog out, we did and we parked our car by the bit of fence that we thought our dog might sneak through and we had no problems with him. Thank you for the cuppa supplies and the biscuits and we found the house to be well stocked with everything we needed.
