"We had a superior room was a very quiet room/stay, the bed was comfortable and had a good sleep. Bathroom was ok not much room to sit on toilet as squeezed in to the corner of the room right next to the door. The shower screen had a gap between the glass so water would leak on to the floor also mould on the tiles and ceiling as fan did not work. All of the above Reported to reception when leaving. This didn’t affect our stay would stay there again. Breakfast had a good selection but one coffee machine was not great as there was always a long queue. The Hotel was in a great position central to everything. 7/10 rating."

"Clean and comfortable room, decent breakfast, reception staff very helpful. It was possible to switch off heating / air conditioning . Easy walking distance in to town centre. No restaurant meals, just snacks Dirty front steps give a poor first impression."

"Lovely, comfy beds. Good temperature control. Black out curtains I had a mini fridge in my room with treats and a coffee machine, thank you for these touches, they were appreciated."

"Warm welcome, comfortable room, in a slightly quirky hotel. Reception staff & waiting staff very helpful. The decor in places (including our en-suite!) is beginning to need a refresh, but everywhere was clean. Breakfasts were excellent, but no dinner service at this hotel. However, The Plough pub across the road serves tasty, albeit uncomplicated food in a convivial atmosphere. Guests certainly need to be aware that it’s a lengthy walk into the city, but this is easily overcome by using the very frequent local bus & Park & Ride services which pickup from t’other side of the street. Overall, a successful stay."

"We cannot rate the Novotel highly enough, the staff are super friendly and efficient. Excellent breakfast, we also ate at the restaurant one evening, again a very enjoyable experience. One of the few places we have stayed that has a bar lounge you actually want to use. Very convenient location just a 10 minute stroll from town."
