  • Ouse Retreat is a cosy one bedroom apartment, formed perfectly for 2 guests to enjoy a relaxing weekend in York. This modern apartment offers all the home from home comforts you could need whilst staying away from home!
    Nestled in the ideal location just a short stroll from York City Centre. A scenic 15 minute stroll down by the river Ouse straight into the heart of York provides convenience in every form.
    The property itself is located in the lovely little village of Fulford, there are plenty of local shops, pubs, and scenic walks within a few minutes' walk. Everything you could possibly need is within a short walk or very short drive, Supermarkets such as Aldi & Iceland within a 7 minute walk, Sainsburys local and a Pharmacy at the end of the street, and McArthur Glen shopping centre is just a 8 minute drive from the property.
    Should you wish to venture into the city centre, Clifford's Tower and The York Dungeons are just a 4 minute drive away, or a lovely 15 minute stroll by the river.
    Ouse Retreat is a private apartment, based inside a redeveloped townhouse. The apartment is located on the first floor of the building, as you enter, you will find an open plan living, dining and kitchen space. The contemporary Kitchen offers all the electrical appliances you could need including a kettle, toaster, microwave, full fridge freezer and electric oven and hob. All the pots, pans, cutlery and crockery you could need to cook a basic meal are provided for your convenience.
    In the centre of the room there is a dining table, for you to enjoy a delicious home cooked meal or a take out from one of York's many options!
    The living space offers a comfortable sofa and arm chair. Overlooking a smart Tv, perfect for you to sit and indulge on all of your favourite Tv shows after a busy day exploring the history that York has to offer.
    The bedroom boasts a comfortable double bed, complete with hotel quality bed linen and towels, for your use throughout your stay!

    The bathroom offers a shower and WC.
    Ironing and Hair drying facilities are provided for your use.
    Parking can be provided on the street with a parking permit for one car.

Comfortable accommodation in a great location.

We had a four night stay at Ouse Retreat. The apartment is compact but comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare some meals "at home", and having a washing machine was brilliant. Bed was comfortable, although a double rather than a queen, and the bathroom perfectly functional (the storage water heater is good for two showers but not a heap more). Location is great - we walked into the centre along the river every day which takes about 15 minutes. The street parking was no issue - we parked straight out the front. If you arrive later in the evening you might need to hunt about for a spot. All in all, very happy to recommend a stay here.

Spotless

This is a really lovely apartment for two, spotlessly clean and everything you need to explore York. There were even teabags, spices and plenty of cooking utensils. SO peaceful, very close to the river and an easy walk into the city.

Great stay

We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment is a modern refurbishment in a terraced house. It was well decorated and the fixtures and fittings are a balanced mixture of modern and traditional. There are some nice surprise features too - an excellent fan and a nicely stocked kitchen (tea, coffee, condiments and herb and spices). The bathroom is modern with a powerful shower. The bath towels are BIG - well suited for my large frame. The outdoor parking was easy as the road was quiet during our stay and we were able to park right outside the apartment throughout our stay. The walk into York is a gentle 25 minutes and relatively flat. There is a comprehensive booklet covering all aspects of a stay - places to visit, restaurants and bar, shopping and much more. Fast and comprehensive contact with host. All in all perfect for our needs and highly recommended.
