Wonderful relaxing break with our two labradors who were also very settled. Lots of great walks and pleasant evenings in a very nice cottage. Judy is a fantastic host.
A quite delightful property, with everything provided to ensure an enjoyable stay. The hostess Judy was on hand to complement the stay.

Idyllic setting, great base for exploring
Lovely cottage, comfortable with lots of thoughtful extras. Judy was a very welcoming and helpful host. Beautiful setting and handy base for visiting this part of Yorkshire. really enjoyed our stay. Would recommend to friends and family.
We loved staying at Curlew Cottage. It was in a beautiful spot with stunning views. Very rural and peaceful. Just what we wanted. I loved just sitting out and listening to the birds. The cottage itself was clean, with a well stocked kitchen and books and games to choose from too. The private patio was lovely to sit out and have breakfast. Judy was a lovely host and was friendly and very helpful. She gave us some milk and eggs on arrival which was lovely. We were also greeted by Brutus, such a friendly cute dog. There is a great pub at the end of the road for food and drinks. We will definitely be returning. Thank you Judy for a lovely stay

The perfect holiday
This is the perfect location for exploring York, the Wolds, the Yorshire Moors and innumerable other wonderful places. The cottage is spacious and attractively furnished. Everything you could possibly need is provided for. Judy, the owner, is the best hostess you can think of: the first proof of that was the delicious homemade cake that welcomed us. Judy knows everything about any place you might want to visit and she happily shared her knowledge with us. Being a guitar freak I am particularly grateful to Judy, for she managed to persuade her son to lend me his guitar for the duration of our stay. This is to show that she goes out of her way to make her guests happy. We spent an unforgettable week at Curlew Cottage and we will certainly recommend it to all our friends. - and we will be back as soon as possible!
Beautiful Cottage, with beautiful countryside views
A hidden little gem in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside. Spotlessly clean, well equipped with a lovely lady owner. Judy is warm and friendly, she can’t do enough for you. Highly recommend this idyllic place.
What a fabulous stay! Curlew Cottage is lovely, set in the gardens of the farm. Immaculately kept with everything you need for a relaxing break. Weather was glorious so we were able to take advantage of the outside space and enjoy the sunshine in the evenings. Judy is a warm and welcoming host , making us feel at home with milk eggs and a cake when we arrived. We were able to connect our electric car to the outside power supply for a quick recharge which was a great help between day trips . Overall a super place and will book again. Thank you Judy, and Brutus the friendliest and funniest dog ❤️
Lovely comfy cottage in very quiet area. Big king size Bed. Large spacious bathroom. Sofa bed although comfortable is really suitable for one person. Little courtyard facing lovely garden border, so very pleasant sitting outside. Pub at bottom of lane welcoming and did good cheap food.
Perfect. From the minute we arrived at the pub at the start of the lane everything was perfect. Pub was lovely. Friendly. Cottage at the end of the lane. Just beautiful. The flowers! Stunning display. Our 11 month old labradors quickly settled in and became best friends with Brutus. They had the best time and the most freedom they've ever had. Perfect base for York. Judy was great. We will return. A holiday we will never forget. Just lovely. Thank you.

Excellent facilities with a friendly reception
The cottage presentation and layout was perfect. The bedroom, bathroom and kitchen were first class, clean & tidy. Made a perfect base for our short 4 day visit to Yorkshire.
Judy made us very welcome and had provided fresh milk in the fridge, fresh eggs, tea/coffee and biscuits when we arrived, very thoughtful. Would highly recommend these cottages to any potential visitors.

Exactly what we wanted!
The accommodation was lovely - the perfect size for a small group! We were 3 (2adults,one toddler) using the cottage as a base for exploring York and the surrounding area for 4 nights - but we wished we'd had a longer to explore more and spend a day chilling out at the cottage! Our little girl especially was a massive fan of all the chickens and doggies roaming around, and Judy is so lovely and friendly - even kindly giving us an extra 4 pints of milk when we arrived and I realised I'd failed to pack ours from home (oops!) lovely little holiday! Thank you! X

Very welcoming, comfortable and excellently equipped for the perfect and worry free holiday.
Though slightly out of the way it is still close enough to shopping outlets for day to day supplies. Excellently positioned to visit York, Whitby and Ripon.

fabulous cottage!
This is a beautiful cottage in perfect, tranquil surroundings. Cottage has all mod cons, plus its own little garden to the front, leading onto owners garden surrounded by fields. Perfect for us as we wanted total relaxation. Thank you for an amazing week and we hope to be back at some point.

Perfect cottage retreat
My mother, two children and I have just returned from a delightful break at Curlew Cottage. On arrival we found the cottage to be spotlessly clean and tidy and there was a cake and coffee and tea for us to have, which we thought was a lovely welcome to the cottage. We found that there was everything you could possibly need there and it was set in a beautiful, peaceful place. Judy was a lovely person who was always happy to give advice of places which we could visit on our stay. It is in an ideal location and there is so much to see and do. We had a great time on the "bloody tour of York", the York maze was a good day out for the kids and the dungeons are worth a visit too. My children loved playing with Judy's dogs in the beautiful communal garden outside and have asked to go back for a holiday there again. We would recommend the cottage to anyone and hope to return again in future.

Fantastic getaway in Yorkshire!
My wife and I just returned from two very relaxing and enjoyable weeks at Curlew Cottage, Thornganby, Yorkshire! The cottage was very well equipped with appliances but also kitchen utensils and dishes, everything worked very well.(which isn't always the case!).
Judy, the owner, was very welcoming and always ready with a suggestion of something else to see or visit, or to help with whatever we needed. The cottage was very clean, and the bed comfortable. Fresh milk, tea and a delicious walnut cake awaited us on our arrival!
We thoroughly enjoyed the local area as well as visiting the moors and dales of Yorkshire. York itself was very interesting and we did not begin to see everything that is available! We enjoyed visiting Selby, Harrogate, Whitby, Scarborough and Richmond which were all within easy driving time.
The Mason Arms in York has wonderful roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, while "Filmore and Union" and "Georgina's Café" in York provided tea and goodies repeatedly!
I would highly recommend the Thorganby Farm Cottages to anyone who wants a relaxing get-away within driving distance to activities for the whole family! We hope to go back!

Comfy peaceful getaway near many attactions
Met and welcomed by Judy the owner who lives in the farmhouse on site. great propery stayed 2 adults and our 2 children.
Property has a very acurate description, Judy gave us the option how to arrange th sleeping arrangements prior to arrival, we opted for the children to chare the bedroom and it was set up as twin beds. We opted for the sofabed which I have to say is the most comfortable one I've slept on to date!
There is a private courtyard outside the cottage, and a large communal garden out side of this which the children happliy played in wil the owners two friendly dogs.
There was milk in the fridge, tea coffe, sugar, cake, local eggs and some jam on arrival. Judy was full of knowledge of the local area.
We stayed for the Bank holiday weekend, visiting the Air musuem one day and eating our in the next village in the evening, travelled into York and visited Jorvik and the dungeons whilst there too, sadly the stay was too short we could have easliy visited the coast and many other attractions in the area - maybe next time!
Overall a lovely base to chill out and have some family time

It was a pleasure
We are a Spanish couple with two small children (4 & 7). We stayed at Thorganby Farm Cottages for 10 days while we were trying to find long term acomodation in York. We found the cottage very well equipped, clean and nicely decorated. Internet was working without problems. The children loved playing in the garden and very much enjoyed the countryside. Judy was extremely friendly and very helpful all the time. It was a pleasure to enjoy these days in her cottage.
After the ten days we had to leave for a few days to another holiday acomodation because Judy´s cottages were previously booked, and she let us have our car rooftop cargo box full of our stuff in her premises for more than a week. The other accomodation we went in the surroundings of York was not half as good as Judy´s and we really missed being at Thorganby Farm Cottages.
I will definitely recommend this accomodation to family and friends.

Excellent
Clear directions, good welcome with more than basics ... yummy cake and fresh eggs.
My daughter, 5yr old grandson and I had a super half term break. Good quality decor, furnishings and equipment, everything was scrupulously clean with lovely comfy beds and nice bedding.
On the second morning my grandson said ''I love York'' he was enjoying the cottage, the local area which was good for walking and exploring. For the grown ups driving to the nearby Designer Outlet to use the 'Park and Ride' into York couldn't be easier, stress free right into the centre where there is so much to see of course.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the whole stay. Thank you Judy

Curlew Cottage
