The room we had was a room on the first floor fitted out for the disabled, which isn't what we needed or required or expected, low wardrobe rails, little furnishings, wet room, which meant no bath, low sink. I complained but the desk staff blamed the room allocation on the fact we checked in on line! So my advice queue and ensure you get the right room allocation for your original booking. "

"Great stay, staff were amazing, check in was a breeze, including a comp upgrade for our 20th anniversary. Only stayed for one night; but could have happily stayed longer. Room was immaculate, view is stunning across Whitby and the Abbey. Cooked breakfast was great, poached eggs on request, missed out on the fruit, but that’s what a lie in does. A lie in caused by a really comfortable bed, best night asleep in a good while! Thanks Royal Hotel, we really appreciated being looked after so well!"
