"Me and my husband stayed in room 1 for 1 night and we were blown away by the great standard of La Vieja Botica. The room was excellent, loved the interior. The bed and the linen was luxurious as well as the towels. The host was so sweet and helpful in every way. We would very much recommend this place and would like to come again. "Although it’s a beautifully renovated building in the residential part of the old town of Velez-Málaga, the photos are somewhat misleading. Pool is a jacuzzi that is no longer functioning. Ground floor rooms are dark, with no views and portable air conditioning units. There was no wifi in our room—only in the common areas. Parking can be difficult."

"A really nice traditional hotel in the hills close to Frigiliana and above Nerja. Our room was large with a nice balcony with views down to the coast. The bathroom was also large. There's a nice pool at the hotel and the restaurant is very good with lovely home cooked food available in the evening (and nice views at sunset) and a good quality breakfast. "Highly recommend. Gorgeous, central location overlooking the main Plaza and church tower. Incredible service - Maurice went above and beyond, meeting me at the town border to guide me through town to the parking spot, carrying my suitcase to and from my room, and providing me excellent advice on dining and sights. I also loved the rooftop gourmet breakfast and well-stocked honor bar. Such a thoughtful place to stay."

"We had all meals included on our stay, and both lunch and dinner are three meal courses (with Spanish specialities)! Up in the mountains, where the hotel is located, it is (of course) free parking. The bed was i bit hard, but we could sleep (after the superb food). Wifi in the room is a bit slooow. This was a good stay for an early flight from Malaga. "
