Camp
If you don’t mind feeling like you’re at the fish camp then this is a good place to stay. Close to launch, quiet. We’ve stayed here twice and it’s perfect for us.

Fishing
If you are just looking for a place to stay and fish it is ok, Could have used some cleaning up outside but had been raining. It is just a few minutes to the boat ramp which was what we wanted

I loved it!
An absolutely gorgeous cabin, we loved it! The most reasonable prices I found when searching for a lake cabin. Super clean, really nice and clean kitchen and bedroom. Super cold air conditioning. Overlooking 2 acres out back. Only 2 blocks to the boat launch, walking distance, at the end of the road. Country setting, very safe. I’ll stay there anytime I go to Lake Sam Rayburn and in that area. Ken is super nice and professional. He even has bass and crappie guide services, so we don’t have to take our boat if we book a fishing trip when we book a cabin. Thank you so much!

Not Worth It
I will start with the pros: - Owner was easy to get in touch with. - Refrigerator was broken and the owner provided a new one the very next day. - Reimbursed us for one night since we left early. Cons: - The place was very dirty. There was dust, spiderwebs, and cob webs everywhere. My kids feet were disgustingly black from walking on the indoor/outdoor "carpet" within 10 minutes and I ended up having to buy them socks from the DG bc I would not let them walk around barefoot. The box fans were caked with dust. Dishes were dirty as well. - Spiders and other insects all over the place. - It was HOT. There are two window units cooling the entire place but they didn't do much good due to the amount of cracks and gaps in the building. The back room with the queen bed and the rooms with the twin beds didn't cool down until around 11pm. - There is exposed electrical throughout the place and no real lighting except for the kitchen and bathroom. Each bedroom had a lamp. I'm pretty sure there are only lamps so that you can't see how dirty it actually is. - TV did not have a remote and since it has DISH network we couldn't use the TV. We tried to manually turn channels but that didn't work either. We left two days ahead of schedule. The owner did reimburse us for one night yet we missed two. Overall, this is NOT a place for children nor family get togethers. This is the type of place that you pack a bunch of the guys in, fish from sun up to sun down, drink and sleep, then do it all over again. We probably would have stayed if it were clean and cooler. It's hard fishing in the sun all day to come back to a hot box and never actually feel clean. We didn't expect luxury but we definitely thought it would have been better.

Great fish camp!
We had a great stay! Thank you to Ken, our awesome host. This was a quiet, clean place close to the lake. We especially enjoyed the campfire at night and the visits from Sambo, the friendly camp dog 😊

My husband and I spent very little time at the property during our stay.
We spent most of our time with family who lived close by. I did, however, appreciate the TV. TV was awesome since it rained and we were unable to go outside..

Fishing cabin
It's a roof over your head when you come in from the lake. Love that it is close to the boat ramp. And the wildlife is awesome. We woke up to 5 bucks in the back yard.

Just ok
It is fine if you just need a roof over your head and the very basics. We were fishing a tournament so it was ok as most of our time was out on the lake. I don't feel the pictures were accurate representations of the actual property - other than the main room

Fish Camp
There's lots to like about this place. The circle path behind the house offers plenty of room to park and maneuver when pulling a boat. Charging plug for the batteries is provided. Its close to the boat ramp. Very peaceful and secure setting on several acres that borders the National Forest. Very relaxing to sit outdoors and enjoy conversations and libations. The interior, a bit rustic, was very clean and had everything provided. We utilized the Coffee pot with filters, microwave, large toaster oven, full sized frig with freezer above, the satellite TV at night. Ken was a great host.
