"We loved the room that we stayed in. It was recently decorated in greys and pastel pinks. The room felt spacious and the bed was very comfy. The bathroom was large with a separate bath and shower. "We agreed with some of the other reviews, that it a bit quirky in parts. Bits are a bit old fashioned, but everything is very clean. Breakfast was excellent. Only real negative was that things that would be easy and cheap to fix were not done, things like squeaking doors and replacing blackened silicone sealant around the bath. "Great little find. Nothing really local in terms of walking distance, but well equipped rooms with double glazing, heating and air con, comfy beds and friendly service. Fantastic food that locals travel specifically for - would stay again if in the area."

Very disappointed by the size of the room - the Heligan is tiny - just enough room for the bed and very little wardrobe space - so had to keep my clothes in my case and it was a squeeze in and out of the bathroom - which has an opaque window - so if you dont mind seeing your partner on the loo then its ok. For a room described as 'deluxe' with a kingsize bed it was a let down, having travelled 300 miles to get there. Overall though...
