it is around 5 mins walk from the station to the hotel, the location is kind of at the edge of town, so I stayed away from the noise of the city centre. there is a river next to it, so it is relaxing to hear the sound of the river at night. I stayed at the highest floor of the hotel with a balcony of a view of Matterhorn. however there is no elevator at this hotel, so it would be not that convenient for people with huge and heavy suitcase. I still think it is worth it as I could see Matterhorn when I wake up every morning during my stay.

Great property. Five minutes walk from the train station and five minutes walk from the main downtown area. Super clean room and the best bathroom on the 2 week trip. View of the Matterhorn was super. Small booking confusion was quickly and easily resolved by the friendly staff. They stored my luggage for the two hours pre and post check in and check out. Would absolutely stay here again. No elevator, so I can only give it a 9.5/10 rating.

I stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is in a great location and the staff is very friendly. Although the hotel does not have an elevator, but the room is very comfortable and has terrace with beautiful mountain views. So if I have the chance to come back, I will definitely choose this hotel.

Great 2 day base to explore the Matterhorn

Our family was staying in Zermatt for 2 nights to trek the Matterhorn. Great location, very short walk to the stations and centre of town. Good size room for a family and a balcony with views of the mountain. What more do you want.

Close to Zermatt station, train to Gornergrat, and right across from the funicular to Rothorn, but a bit far from the cable car up to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Facilities are aging but adequate. Note that the shower/tub can be a hazard for older or less-agile folks to get in and out of. River can be loud enough to disturb sleep, but on a hot night you’ll have to leave the windows open.

Very charming

For starters, be aware this place has no elevator. Lugging suitcases and climbing stairs after a day of skiing can be rough. But if you're OK with that, this is definitely an incredible place to stay. The rates are competitive. The location is perfect, directly across from a ski lift and next to rental places. The building is clean with great charm. Food at the restaurant is tasty. The place is family run and everyone there is incredibly helpful. The mattress was thin but I was tired enough to sleep well. If I return to Zermatt, I will probably stay here again. (photo is from my balcony)

Do not go there. Really bad value for money! Third floor without lift. Hair on the bed. Bad and arrogant service. Minisculous breakfast and really expensive! Worst experience out of hundreds of hotels!

Over all good hotel, only downside is to carry own luggage via staircase. Which hotel mentioned clearly but when you reach with luggage you realize efforts require to carry :(. clear view at top of Matterhorn from hotel decent veg\non beg options. quite\clam location opposite to ski lift....walkable 400m from railway station but hotel later informed free bus service operate till 7pm. better to enjoy view of Matterhorn from street also... decent shopping and dining option near station and walkable from hotel. Some picture of Joker felt scary but noting wrong. All hotels has drinkable water from toilet... but feel bit odd as quality of tap water good, hope hotels will install central water refill station. to avoid buying of plastic bottles for visitor traveling own water bottles.
